  • A bulgarian hello! :)

Hi there, my name is Kalin, I'm Bulgarian and I am 15 years old. I live in Montreal, QC (which is in Canada).

I don't know really what to say about myself.. I started training at a Muay Thai gym about a week ago,1hour - 3 times a week (for teens.. 14/16 I think..)

Anyways, I was just hoping I could get some basic ideas about what I could do to train at home.

I was bodybuilding for fun with a friend of mine before, just to look big, tough and get some girls. But now I want to be an efficient Nak Muay, and until I can actually become one, I would really like to learn how to build my body for resistance, strength and endurance; So that I could last in those 3 minutes rounds and not get knocked down by fatigue.

Other than that, I'm just curious about any other MAs and would like to learn what they are about and everything. Unlike some Martial Artists, I do NOT idolise Muay Thai, I just prefer it since I think it suits me best, but I DO respect all other forms of MAs.

    Hi welcome to defend.

I think you will work hard enough in the gym, I would do some jogging or bike for endurance and you may want to shadow box at home and do push ups and abs just to stay fit for muay thai. muay thai gyms usuallly have a tough
training schedule so you'll be tired at the beginning. Once you get the exercices and drills they make you do, you can repeat some of them at home if you can do that. The important thing is to stay focused!

    Good luck with your training.

      Thanks Tee Sok
I'll try what you said indeed but one last little thing that bothers me still is that, I can't really jog or bike at this time of the year because I feel we'll soon get hit by the snow and the -twenties that we get up here in Canada

Would skipping be a good thing to do instead of jogging, biking and the such? (Since I can perform it indoors)

Yes skipping is perfect. You may also "run" without advancing, just stay in the same place. Used to do that as a warm up inside the gym.
