Hey, I am glad to see another girl on here. LOL I haven't been here long but I have been on a lot of other forums. Most of the women don't post anymore because of insulting and degrading comments. Thai Bri said that you have an injury. What happened?

No. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I said that she was at risk of having an injury similar to yours. A tree fell on you, right? Well, Little Demon wanders around her garden with a blind fold on. So shes bound to be in a high risk group of having a tree fall on her, isn't she?
I am very worried.

hi
Originally posted by osopardoI was an ex-martial artist earlier this year (broke my ankle). During the time I was away from training I was fairly ineffective and out of shape and no threat to anyone. Any novice (someone who has recently started training and is filled with the enthusiasm of the new venture) coulda easily beaten me (and I'm very experienced) because being a martial artist is NOT something you are, it's something you do. It requires active involvement, it's maintenance.

Then the answer, very obviously, is that the novice doesnt have much of a chance. At this point we're talking about levels of experience and knowledge combined witht a willingness to hurt another person. It then becomes a matter of self defense, which would include weapons and heightened awareness and other factors.
not meaning to rehash an old topic, but I was reading the previous posts where a number of people advised you to be a bit more guarded in offering personal info on the 'net and I was reminded once again of Paxton Quigley.
I recommend you check her out, if you haven't already done so. She covers a lot of info on her website re: women's self-defense issuea that you state you want to cover on yours. Anyway, I think she'd be a good resource for you. http://www.paxtonquigley.com/
As for quitting college; it's not too late to correct a horrible horrible mistake. You were given an opportunity and you rejected it because it didn't seem like fun? Big mistake! What's next, quitting martial arts training because you don't like getting hit? Quitting can become a habit, you know. Take it from an old experienced man, the harder you work now, the easier you'll have it later. Someday, you'll either be glad or wish you had listened to my advice.
Not trying to be condescending, but I've been that route before, I've made the same mistakes. It took four months working in a factory and eating out of a paper bag and negotiating late payment schedules on my apartment to get me to realize that I needed a college degree to get a better job to live a better life. Even a vocational/technical school is preferable to nothing. And if you come from wealth and already have all the money in the world, then there's the fact that an education will simply make you a more interesting pereson to talk to.

making a movie
hi.i'm rob from ny.i would like to gather some martial artists who are capable of acting as well.well the acting skills arent as important as the martial arts skills is some cases and the martial arts skills arent as important as the acting skills in other instances.
in my case it's sort of in between.i'm an okay to pretty good actor and the same with my kung fu holds true.
i do however above all, posses some good ideas for plot, storyline and such.
i'd like to make something similiar to bloodsport and vann damme's latest flick"in hell".
i reside in orange county via goshen,ny.
another type of martial arts movie to make would involve horror/sci-fi elements.something like a combo of silent rage and universal soldier II:the return, would also make for an interesting film project.
actors really do have the life.
but so do directors, producers and screen writers as well.
it's the ultimate business.period.
