            Wow you are very polite.

Don't worry I will remember. Thanks for asking politely.

What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.

This XMA topic seems to bother a lot of people and I don't know why??

It's not for me, but I can't do back flips, handsprings, etc...

Martial Arts training (of any kind) is an individual choice.
The effectiveness of a Martial Artist is an individual matter.
The amount of training a Martial Artist does is also an individual matter.
So why do we assume the "XMA people" (as a whole) can't defend themselves at all, or more importantly, Why do we care??

It's not my job to insure the integrity of every MA school, nor is it my job to evaluate their training curriculum.

It's my job to keep my family (including myself) alive and safe, so I train in an art that "I BELIEVE" fits this need. In addition I train as often as "I FEEL" I have to, again to fit this need. I'm not looking for general approval, I'm not even looking for approval from my sensei or school and I'm not interseted in some guy on TV giving people the wrong idea about MA or XMA or TMA or MMA.

The XMA people do what they do, the movie people do what they do, etc...

I'm not looking for approval of what I do, nor do I have an opinion about what others do, so the question is:
Why does XMA bother soo many people??

Its NOT a MARTIAL art, if they called it XG (xtreme gymnastics) it wouldnt bother me at all...just because you wear a gi and spin martial arts weapons like a flag team doesnt give you the right to be called a martial artist....youre a performer, not a fighter

Then, just put on some 8oz. gloves, mouthpiece, yer junk protection, maybe even some light pads in case you don't want to go too all out, then just tell him/her "alright, anything goes" and just have at it for a bit. Probably talk them through what is happening, like if you clinch them and they can't do anything, or if you take them down and they obviously are like a fish out of water. Don't just WAIL on them as this will just turn them off to your style, but slowly expose gaps in their fighting game.

Even though this will probably not even convince them, much less all of the people out there clueless to MMA, it will give that person something to think about later on.

                  Best regards,
