  • A sincerely apology

It's been pointed out to me that some of my terminology may have seemed racist and offensive to some.

While I may not be particularly concerned whether or not my opinions may offend others, it was never my intention to cast aspersions upon anyone because of their race, creed or affectional preferences. If that has been the case, I sincerely apologize to all.

    Thank you.

You are one of the few that actually are willing to admit it. Many other people simply fall into denial and call you an @ss tard...@sstard.

Well, I must take the position and remain dubious... Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but I am suprised that no one else feels this "apology" is contrived and a result of users talking of banning W-E. What better way to avoid banishment than to appear apologetic. If he were truly sincere.. wouldn't he take the time to make sure he used "sincere" correctly in his thread title?

The following is his own quote from 2:08 on the morning on which I write this post:

"What's all this talk about banning me, just because a couple of people disagree with me? Where's the justice, where's the social discourse? where's the beer nuts?"

Doesn't seem he even knows what he's sorry for. How can one joke about being banned and be contrite in spirit all within little more than a half-hour?

I don't wish to come of as a righteous son of a gun, but come on, think about it folks.

I'm not even a minority and I'm offended.

W-E, I really, truly, SINCERELY, hope my assessment is wrong.

Now look here; I was apologizing because some people took the way I express myself as racist, which I'm not. To me "racist" means you think one race is better than another, which I dont. Case in point; I know I'm not better than Martin Luther King, Julio Iglesias or the Dolly LLama, but I have met peolpe who truly qualify to be called nig**r, s*** or c****.

As for people who say or do stupid things, I'll always be one of the first to call them a dumbass.

And if I disagree with you strongly I'll let you know - strongly!

ps I just had to go back and edit this message 'cause the automatic censor wouldnt spell out nig**r, just replaced it with a bunch of stars, but it didnt do a thing about the other two words - what makes one word wrong but the others ok? where's the equality? where's the justice? and yeah, where's the beer nuts?

Hikage, I didn't mean that I thought the apology was all that sincere. It's just that I've seen internet forums fall into unending flame wars when no one will overlook thier distaste for other posters personal opinions.
It's a difficult thing sometimes knowing when to let something pass and when to take a stand.

I can make 'kiss and make up' jokes because I know if Wild-Eyed means it and shapes up, we'll all forget about this. Whereas, if he continues to act like a jerk then he'll get banned and that's the end of that.

but I have met peolpe who truly qualify to be called nig**r, spic or chink.

Case in point, he seems to be selecting himself out as we speak.

Personaly I dont tend to take things seriously, words least of all.

The very fact that they are censored out seems strange to me: why would you want to give these words power? The more offended we react, the more we reward the people who used them in the first place.

If these terms were ignored they would simply die out.

Right, who cares??! And I noticed that after my p.s. somebody's now gone back and censored the words that hadnt been censored before. We got a really bad case of hipocrisy and abuse of my first amenment rights here!

                        Wow

                        Wow,

I am not sure first amendment rights apply here. This is a “public” forum, but there are rules to follow. Much of what you are saying might be better suited on a Hate sight. I think the purpose of this forum is to share with fellow martial artist’s ideas and experience so we can all grow and live in peace. Your terminology is not only offensive but it shows your small grasp on the world.

Some things are just best left unsaid.

                        Best regards,
                        Michael G Olive

(Sigh, one more time) The first amendment only applies to government vs. citizenry. It does not apply to private property, of which this forum is. Tim Mousel owns this forum and sets whatever rules he likes to govern the discourse here.
Mr Mousel feels that racist behavior and language are not acceptable on this forum, which is why you were warned to clean it up, and also why your post has been edited.

It was a type of graphical error or maybe he's too ignorant to know better or maybe it wasnt important enough or maybe you're obsessing on your grade school Langauge Arts teacher, Mrs. Grundy, an how she use to sit on the corner of her desk, her knees at your eye level, and smile at you while she went over your dangling participulls .
