On a subject dear to my heart:

    Beer!

Just wondering what you think the top 3 beers that you've tasted are?

    For me:
    1. Warstiener (Germany)
    2. Duvel (Belgium) - kick like a mule!
    3. Cooper Pale Ale (Australia)

Nazman, i cannot believe that you left out 'Singha' beer (Thai), its the best and is also 6% but still tastes great especially when cold.
Its the only beer i will drink, but then i only drink a couple of times per year (appx).

        Hey Hu San Yu,

Singha is a good drop but I only ever seem to find it at Thai restaurants but it's great for putting out the fires of Thai and Indian food. Maybe you need to relax more than twice a year.

        Hi Osopardo,

I actually have a can of Duff! A local company started making it (well packing their own brew into Duff cans) until they were taken to court (and lost) by the makers of the Simpsons.

          Great post!

I was on vacation last week and enjoy and decided to enjoy a 6-pack of Hefe and Dunkle Weisen.

I like a lot of beer, but Weisen is topps for me.

            Hi Kengar,

Are these German Beers? I guess Dunkel Weisen is a dark wheat lager and Hefe is an ale. Despite their reputation as effecient, humourless dispilinarians, after having German beer, I'm willing to make a lot of allowances for the Germans

Anyone ever tried any of the English beers like Bodingtons, Bishop's Tipple etc? If so, how do you rate them?

Dark Guiness. That's a good one.
Dos Equis, with lemons - south of the border.
Le Trappe - Also a Belgian Beer.
Celis - American made, but Belgian in origin.

If you end up in a place that doesn't have imports and has a nice deer head trophie, go for Budweiser.

Guiness is a classic! What can I say other than 'I laughed, I cried, I fell over...'

Le Trappe is pretty powerful (8%) if my somewhat clouded recollection of events is right...

Three of my favourite beers (off the top of my head) are:

Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' - very tasty strong ale.

Black Sheep - the perfect pint of bitter.

Samuel Adams lager - I'm not generally a lager drinker but I love Sam Adams. Can't get it much in England though.

(Why just three? Couldn't we do ten... or twenty?!)

Yes, Weisen is German. Wheat Ale's. Weis & Hefe are cloudy and murky, with a slight of bitter taste. But not obtrusive.

"Dark Guinness", dark is not a word needed when saying Guinness. That too is a favorite.

Beer that has taste. I do drink light beers, but why drink beer if you do not care about the taste. A buddy was over watching football and brought Aspen Edge, just might get you drunker than tap water though tastes similar. Not saying you have to drink top of the line constantly, but I have to indulge on occasions.

hi Nazman, you can find Singha at Sainsburys, Tescos and Safeways these days and at any decent offie. This didnt used to be the case until recent years for some reason.

I know what you mean but i can relax without Alcohol quite easily and to be honest, drinking is just too counter-productive to my training, I have done the big drinking scene when I was younger etc..

re your comments above about the English beers/ales, have you tried Marstons Pedigree??, very nice stuff if kept properly and at the right temp' etc..
