Japan may let women reign

The electoral is a joke. It tricks rubes into thinking their vote counts. It doesn't.

I already know the "book" reasons for an electoral college. But when you boil them down, they spell out "Americans aren't smart enough to choose, we'll choose for you".

Unfortunately, this is the reality. The elector college wasn't designed for fiar representation as much as it is a fail safe for teh inherent ingnorance of americans (doesn't seem to have been working lately huh )

Currently, we preach of democracy but we do not have even true democracy. The electorial votes will always be bipartisan so it would be impossible for an independent to ever win (even if in thoery they could command teh popular vote).
