  • Rest in Peace, Pope

Take a brake from that Schiavo stuff, the Pope is being buried soon. He promoted world peace, tried to unite opposing people and defied communism in the 80's. He spoke 8 languages fluently and parts of others.

He was the first Pope to visit a Muslim Mosque, to demonstrate love for all of God's people and prayed with clerics. It takes a lot of courage and self-sacrifice to pull off such gestures.

      Little anecdote
Before visiting my country, he was told we are a country of 15 million popes
to which he replied , that that was't the problem, it was the fact that the women all were thinking they knew anything about theology
Yeah he was really womenfriendly this pope

No one is perfect. Keep in mind the time frame which he grew up. Regardless the man was self-sacrificial 100% of the time. He was constantly travelling and helping people. He was a devoted man.

No doubt, but so are many other cardinals, bishops and preachers, comes with the territory.

I'm probably so negative because I'm a bit fed up with all the media coverage (especially CCN) It now looks as if he was the leader of all christians, which he wasn't, just for the catholics
The way CCN is covering it, you would expect the majority of US christians to be catholic, are they?

You can allways turn off the t.v. and do something.

I tried setting up bets for who people thought the new pope would be. Funny noone could name two candidates. Any takes on a friendly bet?

Personally I think it will be John Paul III.
If you cant think of names, what country will he be from?

Today I heard on the news that we should refrain from the all to human curiosity of who the new pope will be, and leave that to the church. I'm just too human, I guess.
