My Napoleon-Dynamite like friend is starting to crawl outta his shell. I've been coaching him and motivating him in the gym. He's going to be breaking the 100lb mark on his bench soon. I've been giving him pointers on verbal judo and mindset.

He's going to come out alot stronger and feeling confident.

Cool. I'm currently in the 11th grade but I seem to be stuck on250 as my max. What is your usual bench routine(sets, reps, and how much weight)?

Well chief, I'm old enough to be your big brother, but not your father.

        3 sets

        185 x 12 reps
        225 x 8 reps
        245 x 5 reps

Whenever I hit a plateau in my lifting, I do other things - like swim, or calisthenics.

My guess is that your age is 27 .

Tom, if my memory is correct I believe you speak mandarin. When you were in high school did anyone ever hassle you because of your race?

...and several other languages (which I won't disclose).

In middleschool and highschool I didn't get picked on, probably because I was too active.

Can one avoid a robbery at gunpoint by calmly singing the song Blue Suede Shoes? Or would that be something that only works for Robert Downey Jr in movies...

Hey I know a little Pig Latin...
It is time for me to eave-lay, I have been here to ong-lay, it is making me appear more upid-stay than I already am-way

Nope. Cause if that were true, then Enrico Paluzzo would save the world every day !

That's a great idea. How long is your hiatus usually?
