it wasnt just the conquistadors who who killed non-christians. so... when you say there have been times where christianity was misused...you mean like the last several hundred years or just the last couple decades?

Stalin was an athiest in an athiest state and he killed tens of thousands (millions, depending who ask) of his own people. As a matter of fact, I challenge you to name any religion or government or any other powerful organization which has stood for more than a couple decades and hasn't abused it's power.

no, my arguement is christianity is a religion which choses to kill/persecute those who disagree with them...and hide behind Gods will to do it...

Spoken like a true christian...i dont see it your way so im mentally deficient...
i attended private christian schools from preschool thru high school...i was abused at every one...not sexually mind you, physically and mentally. For instance, in the 3rd grade a classmate lost his nickel for milk...my mom always sent me with two just in case i lost mine. Being a "good little christian boy" i offered one of mine to the crying boy. for this act i spent the day wearing a "thief" hat and necklace and was paraded to each class and embarrassed this way until my mother showed up and pointed out she gave me two nickels everyday...think i got an apology? yeah right...that isnt the only instance of loving caring christians... in the 10 th grade a palm frond poked me in the eye running for football...i told coach and he sent be back to practice. by next class i could not see out of that eye so i asked to see the nurse...she put in eye drops and said go back to class...i left campus called my mom and went the eye doctor who said if i had gotten there any later i would have lost that eye...had to wear an eyepatch for a month. At another christian school my head was used to break a bus window...by the principal...he thought i was talking...(i wasnt). mind u i got A's and B's i was not a trouble maker. those are harldy all my personal experiences with loving christians, just some of the more salient. Btw my Father is a preacher and so is my daughter. i think i have a pretty good idea about christians from personal experience...i dont care what the good book says, its used as an excuse for horrible behavior. but hey you said your sorry and you still get to go to heaven...whatever...

so raping little boys is common human weakness? torturing people who arent of the same religion is common? Driving a fleet of Rolls you paid for from little old ladies who eat cat food is common?

If your point was power corrupts I am with you...thats my point...add a world leader to a religous fanatic and LOOKOUT...it is bad enough when they use other ways of controlling you ie natl interest, ensuring our way of life...but adding in thier own religous ideals into the decision making that affects the rest of the world is completly WRONG. anyone who wants to spend eternity in the company of people like this, be my guest. I was brought up to believe the people who used power to manipulate and control others so they could have a nice cushy life were evil....i was also brought up to believe that people who took money under false pretense were evil...and of course people who rape anyone, especially children, are EVIL and any institution which hides this behavior while continuing to allow it to go on is EVIL ......
SO, if not supporting the above mentioned people and behavior with my money makes ME mentally inferior to you thats something i can live with.
I believe serial killers often feel they are superior to their prey as well....

not exactly...i just find them the most full of themselves and oh yeah bullshi#t.
for people who have "thou shalt not kill" as a tenet of your religion you sure kill alot of people...in fact more people die in your gods name than any other religion...yet christians are not the largest religion...nor do you have the most people who have practiced your religion throughout history...just the most violent....not much turning the other cheek being practiced huh?

as for christianity its fine as an idea...however the christians themselves yeah we would be better off without em...
