  • If you believe in magic-doo da doo

I just thought I'd post this odd little tid-bit.
Capoeira practitioners back in the day would occasionally have tattoos that stemmed from the practice of voudou. These "corpo fechado" tattoos were believed to grant the wearer protection from the supernatural, grant them good luck, and/or make them impervious to certain weapons.
This same practice used to be common amongst some Thai's, who would wear amulets and get tattoos to serve the same purpose. (Even if the tattoos were sometimes done in sesame oil, making them only appear under water)
It is also practiced by old the FMA guys, "anting-anting", charms or tattoos.

Odd that this mysticism seems to span several different cultures and arts...and is so damn similar.
    Any thoughts on this practice?
Any pictures of these types of tattoos???

Being an amateur scholar of psychology, my thoughts on this are that it's because humans though span several thousand miles away from each other, still think similarly.

It's the same thing as celebration, smiling, making swords, staves, etc. These things all have their only differences but are still very similar.

If anything, look up at most any myths and folklore of ancient past, almost all of them involve a large flood consuming the whole world. That's an oddity.
