    Wow

Now that we know what to call god and all, can somebody clarify why this has turned into a bunch of Christian and Christian type religous people arguing over what to call the God whose name people are being killed in???

It is not the will of the Creator that anyone should kill another in his name. It is spelled out very clearly in the Law of Moses. One of the ten Commandments is THOU SHALL NOT KILL!

So again it comes down to your ability to distuingish between those that worship (the true) God and those that worship some other god(s)...

        As I stated

If that is the case then once again why aren't people like Pat Robertson who called for the assasination of the Venezualen President not taken down.

Why are Catholic preists STILL raping little boys. If so many people belive and god is so powerful why is this not stopped by god's true believers?????

The world (situation) is a detestable thing indeed. Those that follow the teachings of Christ should recognize the importance of having NO PART in the detestable things. John 17:16 YOU yourself recognize the hypocricy in the world of religion! Good on you! The roll of (true) Christians is to teach. Not to judge, or condemn or to execute. John 17:3,6

Many people watch the lives of Christians, and conclude that many are hypocrites. Some take the money from poor widows and live a life of luxury, run off with their secretaries, lie, and do numerous other things that drag the name of the Lord through the mud. There is a very sobering scripture that should be read by Christians, "Christians", and people who reject the message of Christ because they see "Christians" doing questionable things.

Jesus is speaking and He says, "Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works?' " "And I will profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

            Matthew 7: 22, 23

As far as the correct way to treat Muslims, or any other religion, we should follow the example of Saint Francis of Assissi. We should show love, respect, and speak the Gospel in a loving manner.

hey how come nobody ever discusses the muslim religion? its pretty interesting in my opinion. many of the same people from the bible are in islam too. im not muslim or christian. i believe in god and am trying to find him and his foregiveness by reading about other religions and trying to do what i can to be a better person. its tough though with so much confusion and so many different interpretations of each religion.

one thing i really liked about islam was their depiction of john the baptist(prophet yahya). the koran says that john the baptist would weep all the time, so much that his cheeks were stained with tears. he was crying for us.

and supposedly the head of john the baptist is located in a mosque, i forgot the name of the mosque and what country it is in. i remember the pope visited it once, and it was the only time a pope had ever gone to a mosque. he wanted to pay his respects to john the baptist.

Your honesty is extremely refreshing. That emptiness you feel can only be filled with Jesus Christ. Begin to pray to God when you are by yourself, asking Him about truth. He will answer. Forget what people tell you concerning the arguments amongst Christians. We have many denominations and disagreements. Many are style, substance, and preference disagreements which do not change the truth of the Gospel. the Holy Spirit himself will lead you to a place of fellowship where you can be around other true Christians who worship and serve the God who created everything both seen and unseen. Don't take my word or anyone else's word for it. Pray in ernest and He will answer.

I had to have a little help understanding what you were saying Tant. My point of view was a little off, but gimme a break I'm still considered young around my parts, lol. I see what you mean now, christians are supposed to avoid all the Crap we'll call it and just teach and learn from the Bible. If you are not supposed to judge then you can't say someone is doing wrong, but you can tell people what your Lord says is ok and not ok. The people who force it down your throat or use it to lie and steal and giving good christians who don't cause any harm a bad name.

                    I'm cool with that.

No matter how self sufficient a person is, there are times when, if you are your only resource, you will not make it. A person who survives a plane crash in the middle of the ocean won't be able to save himself by being a strong swimmer. That person must be saved. A person dying of cancer cannot will himself cured. He must deal with his own helplessness and mortality.

Anyone seeking the truth about the Deity of Christ in private will be rewarded with an answer. There are a million reasons to reject religion. One of these is the desire to live a sinful life without having to answer at a judgement. Each individual will have to practice intellectual honesty to find the real reason for his rejection of Christ.

in my heart, i pray day and night for his guidance and foregiveness.

im just surprised that many people dont know much about islam, yet it centers around the very same events and people in the bible(minus the stuff about mohammed) and offers different perspectives about them. i mean, wouldnt christians like to know what another religion has to say about the people who they find to be so inspiring and important in their lives? people like abraham, john the baptist, moses and jesus?

plus it makes more sense to me personally that jesus was only a prophet, able to perform miracles and guide us through gods will alone. i dont think i can ever believe in my heart in a 3 in 1 type of god. the muslim view of strict monotheism appeals to me more, there is only one true god and jesus and mohammad were his prophets. i dont know what religion is or isnt right, but i know i can learn something from each and hope to find my way.

We live in an age where the news media constantly bombards us about "Jihad" and "Blow yourself up and get 72 virgins, even if you are ugly." There are some wonderful Muslims who don't buy into this. They live their life every day trying to please God (Allah). The Koran teaches some wonderful things, but the teachings about Jesus just being a prophet cannot be reconciled with the Bible. The Jesus of the Bible is God, (John Chapter 1), and the Son of God who died for our sins (John, Chapter 3).

Faith in Him is the Way to God. "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6.

Strictly speaking this concept is part of the trinity doctrine. (Catholic) The concept of the trinity is central to most christian churches but is considered "dogma" or a false teaching among monotheist christians...

Bub I know there is some kind of judegment in the universe you see it on a daily basis. i don't need some guy who's all high and mighty to tell me common sense shit like

                              Don't kill each other
                              Don't steal
Don't sleep around on your wife

Of course your god expects this according to your story you are made in his image....

But he's perfect and your not so your gonna f*ck up. If you need to talk to some imaginary being to make your mind right after you do something you know is wrong, good for you. I have learned through obervation and the feeling i have, and emotions action cause in other people what is right and wrong, moral or immorale. if you're not some heartless bastard you should be able to figure these things out for yourself.

Yes I have made mistakes yes I have regretted them, and yes I have tried to make up for them.

Life is a learning expierence I don't need a crutch named any god to understand how I should live and keep myself. Personally i seem to be doing a better job than most so called christians!!!

I understand there are christians like Tant who will let you know the story of jesus and his sacrafice for people who believe in him without cramming it down people's throats. For those kinds of christians I AM thankful because they don't annoy me or piss me off. People who tell me how to live (no this isn't directed at you Dimmy) can kiss my ass because as Tant pointed out those aren't real christians.

If i say thanks but no thanks once I don't need some one to keep spouting off to me how great you think jesus is. I like icecream alot too but it won't save my soul.

But the best reason is actions speak louder than an old book, Christians are a vindictive, evil force spreading death and contamination across the planet for the most part. But thats just my opinion and observation, i dont talk to any superbeings from the sky....no bushes burst into flames etc, i just follow common sense
