That isnt going to work when you get in the group of people who realize weapons aren't play pretties you pass around I dont hand my weapons to Stabby, much less a stranger, and certainly not some chick playin' the dumb card
Okay, but that certainly doesn't disprove my statement that women are better at strategic disarms than men are.
Guys will do amazingly retarded shit to impress a girl. I wouldn't count on that.
Not counting on it, but it certainly adds options. I like options. Plus in the situation I mentioned (and others like it) he might have actually hurt someone by accident through his own stupidity.
These guys are once again just trying to impress you... They have those shiny knives to make themselves feel cool, and they can maybe get some if they show it off to the right girl. If they whip out their knife and give it to you at the first wink, they are idiots. I don't even let other students handle my blades, let alone some random cute guy. I think it speaks volumes about their intelligence.
And then they get all offended when I tell them I don't want to get my prints on their knives. lol
In the situation I mentioned and others like it, it was a pretty effective de-escalation tactic. If I thought it worked in every situation, would I even be training and buying weapons and posting on this forum??
.....
And Tant, before you put too much money on me, remember that the guns Boar is used to working around launch shells the size of cars! Don't know if he has access to 'em these days, but he's a crafty old codger, and I wouldn't wanna bet my life on it! I may be able to send a 180 grain bullet to 1,000 meters with a fair degree of accuracy, but that's nothing compared to a five inch gun that launches 'em twenty miles!! Besides, knowing me and Boar, we'd probably meet, get drunk, and come after all of you guys!
That ship has sailed Mr. B. We're all soft targets for beercaps.
I thought you'd be more along the lines of 6000 RPM and 20mm?
Smart move. If they're dumb enough to whip it out to impress a chick, they probably don't have the responsibility to stay outta trouble with it!
Hmmmmm.... maybe you could let 'em put some prints on yours! heheheheh
Nah, their dumbasses might drop it!
Yeah, when I "show" people my knife I step away and hold it out for them... which I guess is kinda dumb, too... easy possibility for disarm... hmmm... but then these would be my instructors and senior students and such... how am I gonna get feedback on my knives if I keep 'em hidden at all times? (Yeah, I know, matching trainers.)
Although Boar wont admit it, by taking "precautionary safety measures" or however Brewer worded it, he is indeed doing the same thing as tapping out, doing the trotsky, whatever the **** it is.
If you don't tap out, or have a system liek that in place, and you are training hard, you are always gonna be too injured to ever defend yourself. I dont care what your training for Boar, you do have a "stop" system in place.
Oh and KingOfTheForest, I think way back when you said "after the armbar they just stop and get up"...
Actually after the armbar most people discuss how the guy got to that position, how he broke the grip, how he isolated the arm, what you could do to prevent it, and similar moves. If MMA or BJJ people trained like you thought they did . (Doing the moves but never explaining how they got to them) Helio Gracie would be the only man who knows BJJ, but actually, he would never have been able to create it, because Maeda never would have learned his techniques, because he never would have been shown.
See how your argument is flawed. The techniques are looked at and taught before and after the tap, just as your "what did I do wrong in this situation" is adressed. Its the same thing, our's is just armbars or triangle chokes, where yours might be a knife in the face.

Trotsky was a leader who helped Stalin build up the Red Army for the communist cause. He died along time ago...hence the term "deader 'n trotsky"
You are a little young aren't ya.
And as for the rest...I think it's just that we're so sane it has completly blown you mind and the rightness of what we are talking about is to much for you to handel and admit it's right.
It's ok to be a little slow you guys I've done it before too.
So I'll take my knife and quit wasting my time. I don't play you guys brand of grab ass sorry.
