with interacial relationships becoming more common in the U.S. I think it is time to talk about something I've noticed and found quite odd (now here's where I get called a racist)
Why do some people adopt the culture and speech of aniother race because they are going out with a person of another race? The most clear example is white woman going out with black guys and having a hair style that a black woman would have, using hip hop slang, dressing in a hip hop manner ect.(yes I know not all or most black peole dress or speak in a in a hip hop manner so save it ok) I've even seen asian women that go out with black men wear corn rows in their hair. Or another example would be white guys who think they are black and this happens even if they don't date black women as most black womne prefer to date black men. But with the huge number of black men dating white women or other races of women the number of black women, white guy relationships is going up. My entire point is why just because you are dating a person of another race would you adopt the caracterisitcs of that race such as dress, hair style,speech ect. I don't get it.
Anyone have an ideas why?
Another good example is white ma people thinking they are asian and sucking up to their asian instructors nad trying to "act" asian

First, I'm no biggot, the white people trying to act asian comment is from a korean friend of mine when we took tkd. I have no problem with different races dating what so ever lol, my entire point is some people suffer from racial misidenty symdrome wherein they try to act like the race of their partner and this seems silly ot me also there are self hating people of every race. People who don't like being the race they are and people who will only date ourtside their race exclusively. I find this type of thing strange. 1. Behavioral reasons: Maybe they feel people outside their race treat them in a way they prefer to be treated. People draw away from pain and move toward comfort, right?

2. Biological reasons: Maybe they are instinctively attracted to certain features or qualities about partners of a different race. Its all about preferences, right - the same thing that drives trade between our countries ...we develop tastes outside our own backyard.

3. Repetition of experience: This is more psychological but I suppose if they have dated other races before, they are likely to do so again - out of habit.

4. Lack of diversity: If the partners available to the person seem to be the same again and again, they may look toward other races for something more interesting?

Blue, its just like the conversation we had about certain kinds of foreign women. The reason why you are interested in them is because they offer something more naturally (than others) that you are instinctively attracted to.

Not just play, but qualities as well.

If you found, for instance that women from country X where as every bit attractive as women here, but were warmer in their personalities or more loyal, you'd start to develop preferences.

i dont think the people you describe are that way because they are trying to impress their partner or whatever. those people probably just had similar interests and styles and got together because of that. they were probably behaving like that before they met that person, not because they felt the needed to become someone else.

as for students trying to act asian to impress their instructors, ive never personally witnessed anything like that. i am middle eastern myself, and i train under an asian guy who i have tons of respect for, but i wouldnt say i felt that i needed to act a certain way to impress him or anything.

WHY do pepole of one race sometimes try to act like another race why aren't they just proud of their own race, especially in todays day and age?
Why would someone want to dress like or act like a race other than their own?

Actually, Tom when I was single I was really interasted in pretty much every attractive single woman on the planet
