I get reverse-bashed for simply disagreeing with the life style by people who identify themselves as open minded. Irony.
Originally posted by Mr. AriesonSo, perhaps if ALL muslims will quit hating, disliking or being biased towards the jews, calm down a little bit, shave thier beards (Which makes no sense to even have a beard in that extreme hot desert climate!) stop blowing up shit, turn Osama Bin Laden in when he is hiding in your country, stop owning and operating these Madrassas (Jr. Terrorist schools) and stop using barbaric, evil Shariat law (the kind that has women flogged 250 times for being raped) then perhaps we will stop calling you "Ragheads".Last edited by Tom Yum; 05-10-2007, 07:04 PM.

Otherwise, I'd say that people kill people. Guns, knives, garrote wire, explosives, makeshift blunt objects or what have you are tools used to carry out man's intentions.
A knife can fillet a freshly caught fish for a healthy meal or it can slice into a person. It just depends on man's intentions.Last edited by Tom Yum; 05-10-2007, 07:52 PM.

Okay, I had to repost this.
Dr Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet
Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that (Leviticus 18:22) clearly states it to be an abomination.
End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.
1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev.1:9). The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in (Exodus 21:7). In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev.15:19-24). The problem is, how do tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. (Lev. 25:44) states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. (Exodus 35:2) clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7. (Lev. 21:20) states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by (Lev.19:27). How should they die?
9. I know from (Lev.11:6-8) that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates (Lev. 19:19) by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted fan, Jim

Originally posted by Mr. AriesonOne more thing, Tom. I read your posts, and many other posts from other posters who are obviously born again Christian-I don't find much that I disagree with, or am offended by. But just like these moderate muslim types, I do feel you could be doing a lot more to save souls and convert people by distancing yourselves from the extreme right wing. It's a turn off to anyone who is on the fence about Jesus.
I converted to christianity a long time ago, but it was not because of "Dr. Dino" or because of Jerry Falwell or Karl Rove. It was simply because I watched a black preacher during the Rodney King riots physically put himself between a white man who had been beaten and spraypainted, and a vicious mob or street gang members, and save the guy.
That to me, was what Christianity is all about, and it saved me that very day!!
I don't think I Bible thump others...but if you say so, that's something I should look at. Sometimes I get into deep conversations with people and I borrow wisdom from the Bible, but I usually don't take the offensive and tell others to blindly convert before they've learned my name.lol
Life happens and sometimes at that moment, I can pull up a verse from the Bible that accurately describes the situation before us...which usually sparks a conversation.
I'm not anti-science at all; I believe there is alot of valid information about evolution. Fundamental science research is a very important field.
I do believe there is wisdom in a Biblical concern for stem cell research and when I mean wisdom, we should be careful what we do because playing with life itself can change the world as we know it...Last edited by Tom Yum; 05-11-2007, 06:44 AM.

The law of tyranny:
1. Any power that can be abused will be abused
2. Abuse always expands to fill the limits of resistance to it.
3. If people don't resist the abuses of others, they will have no one to resist the abuses of themselves, and tyranny will prevail.

“The RISK factor cannot be done away with by taking guns from the law abiding. You see gun laws only affect the law abiding not the criminal; it only disarms the good guys.”
We saw a perfect example of the tragic results this leads too at Virginia tech where the good guys were striped of their rights to carry guns. The fact that only the bad guy had a gun ensured that there were would be more victims. If the good guys had guns there would have been far fewer casualties.

The NRA does not regulate guns, the government regulates guns. The ATF (Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms) enforces the regulations and the police enforce local crimes.

TOM,
Talking about Christianity, and I am Christian BTW (although not a good one), but I think folks get hung up on “Thou shout not kill”. Well, since the Lord is the “same today, yesterday, and forever” and he never contradicts himself (although we see what appears at first glance to be some contradictions if you don’t look hard enough) how could God say “Thou shout not kill” in one instance and go kill all the Canaanites in another---Deuteronomy 7:1-5 demands the total destruction of the Canaanites. I think the “Thou shout not kill” really means thou shall not commit murder.
Though being a Christian I do feel little short changed for not getting any virgins when I die, hehe.
