lol, i almost got banned just because of my screen name. i highly doubt i have the freedom to say whatever i want on this forum, especially when you consider the fact that ive been banned like 4 or 5 times already in the past for things ive said.

The laws of a nation are designed to protect its people and defend its sovreignty. The laws of a nation do not extend beyond its borders and interests, however.

Gitmo is considered US soils isn't it? therefore the laws of the nation do apply
Also a number of detainees have been plucked out of countries the US isn't waging war on sometimes against the laws of that particular country ( US doesn't recognizes the sovreignty
Now I do not see why they should be treated differently if they have been moved to US soil
Any prisoner on US soil should be extended the same rights ( or stripped from the same rights)

Now what I understand from your viewpoint is that you think that to protect its citizens the US should be allowed to infringe of other coutries sovreignty
and break its laws even if you are not at war with them
Also it should be allowed to break international treaties (SP?)and laws and torture the terror suspects as long as they do not hail from the US ( or let other countries do it for you)


BTW the right to bear arm is not and never will be a basic human right/freedom.
It is a Basic American Freedom and it probably is in a few other countries
In most countries it doen't need to be because our history is fastly different from yours
As stated it was a reaction to the rule of King George and has been there from the beginning of the USA therefore there are many weapons aroundboth legal and illegal ( most illegal guns were legal at one time or another)

because of this we have far less illegal guns and gunviolence

The US can't change its ways as limmiting gun ownership will not get rid of the illegal guns around

You wouldn't make it saver by restrickting the right to bear arms, we wouldn't gain anything by getting it
