all those terror attacks were in some of the most fucked up countries in the world. i saw the list, it was all countries like somalia, pakistan, afghanistan and iraq. places that were already turbulent and violent even before 9/11 and the bogus war on terror. most of them were in iraq and afghanistan, two countries that are current warzones. of course there are going to be many violent attacks in current warzones lol....

    • Yeah. It's just Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. And Thailand. And the Phillipines. And India. And Chechnya and Ethiopia and Sudan and Lebanon and Turkey and Nigeria and Indonesia and Algeria and Bangladesh and Morocco and Yemen and Chad and Jordan and...well, you get the point.

all those countries you list only strengthen my point. those were all very turbulent third world countries that have had problems way before the bogus war on terror. the only thing that changed since the war on terror started was that attacks in these countries only increased due to the lawlessness its caused in some of these places.

shit happens all over the world, dont let people exploit it to keep you in a constant state of fear. a few weeks ago we had a severely violent incident occur in our nation, and it had nothing to do with muslims or middle easterners.

why dont you post a page like this instead of propaganda?

So you're making excuses for terrorist attacks? Yeah, I guess innocent lives in turbulent countries don't count, huh?

In essence, it is by definition a WORLD wide war.

It is fear inspiring. Considering the capability of the US fleets alone.

As far back as the early 1980's there were elements of our military calling for nuclear attacks in the middle east. I recall hearing it called the "glass parking lot"....

i didnt make excuses for them, i only said that just about every country you stated was a country that already had many problems even way before 9/11 and the war on terror. the war on terror is bogus, as it has only provoked these situations in their respective countries instead of making the situation better. how is that to our benefit??

chechnyans have been at war with russia since like the early 90's, but people are only hearing about it now that putin wanted to exploit the "war on terror" to get help from the usa in crushing the chechen problem.

the phillipines have had problems with insurgency for how long?????? same with thailand and india, all those countries lol. aint nothing new, they are only now being exploited as excuses to launch operations against other countries. i think we should take care of americas problems before we try to take care of other countries problems. making more enemies and adopting an aggressive and confrontational attitude may end up harming us more than helping which has been the case so far.

                • A long time ago in a land far far away I was in the military. I was working in the Philippines along side Filipino soldiers searching for terrorists who were kidnapping American tourists (and Europeans too) and holding them for ransom.

We uncovered a network of terror that went beyond simple kidnapping. We actually caught two guys (besides many others) who it turned out to have close ties with Iraqi diplomats. These guys were supplying extremists with money given to them by the Iraqi diplomats to fund attacks in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The money as it were was followed back to Iraq. This was in the 80’s. Yes, it was on foreign soil but Americans and allies were the target.

At the time the accepted method of dealing with these guys (terrorists, kidnappers, etc,) was to simply kill them. I am not sure if it was a “Best Practice” policy but it sure worked better than appeasement. Not sure if much has changed since then.

But as long as i've been in this business (since the mid 80's) I ceretainly don't have any good answers.

And dick as much as I dislike you I think you have a good point about fearing our own "totalitarian democracy". We definitely have enemies abroad and at home and in places where both domestic and foreign policy is made.

if we knew the iraqis were funding terrorists that were responsible for killing americans than why did we decide to become his partner? it doesnt make sense. just like its fucked up that we give saudis support, who in turn give support to insurgents fighting americans. why do we keep empowering our own enemies?

I’ve been all over the world and I have seen both the best in people and the worst the courageous and the cowards. The problem as I see it (over simplified) is this: the innate self-absorbed. It is in “mans” nature that once he gains a little authority to become corrupted by it and begin to practice unrighteous dominion.

And for us minions instead of it being we are all in this together, it is everyone for themselves. If you can’t fix that then I am sorry to say it just might not be fixable.

                              Just my humble oppinion.

I don't recall this but a lot of folks thought that way I'm sure.

                                That's classic.

Again I don't think much has changed.
