It's true that BJJ is the best martial art for overcoming a size/strength disadvantage, but even the great Rickson Gracie could not overcome the strength advantage that a Silverback Mountain Ape would have.

Male gorillas average around 400 pounds. That's 400 solid pounds with very little fat. Add to that the fact that they have very sharp teeth and would literally fight to the death, the odds are 100 to 1 against Rickson.

So for all practical purposes, Rickson would lose.

They are incredibly strong and have sharp and powerful teeth. Their is no way Rickson or any other human would have a chance. The gorilla would simply bite the sheeet out of the person. The guard wouldnt help much at all.

And try getting the gorilla down into your guard?!

Dont forget the male orangutans, either. The males are around 300 lbs of muscle, teeth and attitude. They spend all day climbing in the trees, so they are incredibly strong. I think one scientist said they were 6-8 times stronger than an average human. And they use their feet almost as well as their hands! Just watch them hanging from a branch by one arm w/o any real effort.


I cant imagine any human able to last very long against either of these apes. Even Sir Rickson.

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen in this forum.
People are so worried about kids getting guns that nobody remembers the reason that guns where invented in the first place, protection.Instead of raising kids right and watching them lets just ban guns so all us law abiding citizens have no protection, for us and family, against the criminals that get guns illegally....I'm going to stop before I get myself worked up.

I think it would have to be a very high caliber to stop a full-grown mountain ape.

If the gorilla had the gun, I think Rickson could execute a double-leg before the ape figured out how to use it. From there, Rickson by rear naked choke.

A Familiar Story from a fellow Forum Member:

Like most people I've been shot with BB and pellet guns, but I was always kinda curious what it felt like to get shot with a real gun.

Once while rabbit hunting as a lad with two "friends" they started fighting over whose turn it was with the .22 (we only had one rifle between us).

They started grappling with the rifle, trying to take it away from one another. Friend #1 got the end of his 1st finger blown off when the gun discharged.

Moral of the Story: a) 12-year olds shouldn't shoot w/o adult supervision. b) Choose your "friends" wisely.

Nothing wrong with guns in a home if everyone takes the proper precautions. That means teaching your children how to safely handle a gun rather than just telling them "dont' touch"(which we all know only draws them too it like a crack fiend to a pusher). That means taking them out in the feild and teaching them about shooting and gun saftey and truely giving them a hands on education, so the understand what might happen to them if they don't treat a firearm with the respect it deserves.
A gun is just a tool like a knife or a stove. If you teach a child about a the stove and fire and what can happen in a fire, then in most cases they'll avoid tampering with it. The same is true of guns. One fo the many problems is that lazy modern parents couldn't be bothered to invest in their childrens' saftey in this fashion. I know education won't solve all the issue involving children and guns in the house hold, but it would certainly circumvent alot of them.

p.s. - i wrote this post as soon as i saw the post i quoted from, so everything i said may have been covered. If this is the case, then please excuse my repeatative post.

Just because someone is a criminal, doesnt mean they make it their career. If a kid stole a peanut from a grocery store and gets arrested, he is a criminal, but that doesnt mean that now he's going to rush down to your quaint little country homes and rape your daughters.

Just because someones poor doesnt meant that they are "failures of the world" and that you are a "superior person". It means that they are poor and you are probably only middle-class anyway. That makes you average in my book. Besides, a superior person wouldn't sit around afraid all the time that someones going to take their protection away. They would be a congressman or a professor, you know, somebody with real pull in this world.

You know everybody acting afraid that they are going to get robbed, and locking their doors and windows all the time, and shutting themselves up in little suburbs away from all the scary people. You are all bitches, and truly unfit. You dont deserve a gun because youd' probably pee yourself if you had to use it. Scariest thing is that in 20yrs the whole country will be full of old senile babyboomers crapping their diapers, running the country, still allowed to vote.
