i wouldnt want to train at any ufc or tapout, big name gym at all either.

the place i train at is respectable for sure, but its also very low key. its almost a hole in the wall type gym. and even here, i cant believe how much attitude some people have. it seems to me that many people in martial arts have a huge ego do to their perceived skills/toughness. some of these mma noobs who come in sporting their favorite mma fighters hairstyle and look are only there simply to feel like a tough guy. the other week i was sparring with a noob who wasnt wearing any shinpads or headgear, just gloves. after i told him to watch his full force bareshin kicks and he asked me if it was cause i was afriad i said **** it. i either have to hurt him, or im gonna get hurt. i for sure didnt get hurt many of these guys are not there to learn, they are there to prove something or to ride the fad and thoroughly fornicate with it. when chuck liddel was the champion, i swear to god there was like 5 different people sporting the same kind of short, wide mohawk chuck always does LOL......

so many people train just to look sexy or tough, its fucking lame. i would NEVER train at a dojo that threw parties LOL. fck that. you wanna party, go party somewhere else. the dojo/gym is for serious training.

The thai boxing gym i go to celebrate peoples birthdays.
If our instructor finds out its someones birthday he points it out to the whole class and we get double the circuit training.
Needless to say birthdays are not welcome events at the gym.

That's beautiful. Your instructor is just showing his love.
