  • Religious diffrences

This is just a basic and very condensed paper I wrote on differences of religion recently while trying to understand thousands of years of anamocity between these 3 groups of people. I will use the Biblical names to keep it simple. I mean no disrespect to the people of Islamic faith by doing this it is just to simplify things without making a legend to correlate the names from the diffrent holy books.
    .................................................................................................... .......
There are some huge differences between the three religions in the Middle East, those being Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Now the biggest diffence between Christianity and Judaism is the beliefe or non-belief in Jesus Christ as the son of God and saviour of mankind. The people of the Jewish faith do not believe that jesus was sent by God to absolve humanity of it's sins while Christian believers ( Thats where the Christ(ian) in the word comes from) believe that he was.

The next undelying point between these two religions is the New Testament of the bible. The Jewish religion believes in the Tora which is pretty much the same as the Christian bible's old testamnet. One main diffrence being that Lilith referenced in the Talmud (another Jewish holy boobk) was the first woman created and she was also created out of mud like Adam. Lilith wanted equal treatment and not just to be a companion for Adam. This got her kicked out into the Land of Nod the area outside of Eden. Later lore also states that she bore Cain several "children" who were spirits and demons after he was kicked out of Eden for the murder of his brother Abel.

The Jewish religion is based on the Old Religious Law therefore does not ackwoledge the New Testament of the Bible which allows people to eat pork and such. Also the New Testament hold s the prophisies that tell of the second coming of Christ which the Jewish faith does not belive the First coming has happened.

Now all three religions Holy books, The Bible, The Tora and The Qur'an all have similar stories upto the point of Abraham. While the Bible and the Tora run closely all the way to the end of the Old Testamnet the Qur'an branches right at the story of Abraham this is where the Muslim Religion branches.

In the book of Gensis Abraham married Sarah who was barren so Sarah gave him a hand maiden Hagar, who bore him a son Ismael, which meant God hears. This was Abraham 's first son. Now the next son of Abraham was Isaac who was bore by Abraham's wife Sarah. Now according to both books God had promised to bless the world through Abraham's son both times. Isaac's line extended through the prophets Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David,Solomon, and Jesus. In the bible Sarah asks Abraham to banish Hagar and her son Ishmael to a barren land called Paran in the Qur'an and Ber Sheba in the bible. This place is also known as Mecca.

Now there are several continuity diffrences in both books as to the age of Ishmael when he and his mother were sent into the wilderness but that is a ongoing debate that would take way to much space to cover here. That was just to cover the basis of the schism. Now the Jewish faith believes that Isaac is the fountain of the Israelite prophets. (Note there is no mention of the country of Israel in any biblical or other holy book or on an ancient maps. Not till the country was formed after WWII was there any mention of the country of Israel.) While the Qu'ran does acknowledge all of the prophets of the bible including Jesus they feel Muhammad was the last TRUE prophet of God and all rules and Laws were surpassed and overruled by anything Muhammad proclaimed. And that is basically where the schism in Christianity and Islam is greates.

It seems that all 3 religions belive in the same God just by diffrent names and the only real argument is which prophet is the one true prohet and whose laws and holy books are to be the true path to salvation.
    .................................................................................................... ......
So honestly all I see is thousands of years of blood shed and argument over who gets to claim the lineage of the person who truly heard the word of God and who was overruled by the whose prophet. I do not actually practice or follow any of these religions so I really can claim an unbiased view on the research I have done. This information is a lot more in dept but would take pages and pages to explain completely. I see a major correlation between the differences in these religions and the arguments martial artists have over who's style came from where and what was better. It seems to all come down to a matter of lineage. It's sad to break it down to this level and realize countless people have been killed and died for something that has been so convoluted and blown out of proportion when if you follow it down it just came out of a story about a man choosing between two sons ande whos descendants are right or wrong.Especially when on a basic level it's all the same belief system.

Thought opinions? Please be polite and understand every one is entitled to there opinion because this is a religious debate and no body will know the true answer till after they are dead so there is no right or wrong. Only thoughts feelings and information from LOGICAL reasoning to back it up. Belittling people over their feelings on this is just a small minded way to argue, like when your parents said "Because I said so.". Please keep that in mind and keep it civil I know it is easy to get heated over religion but wouldn't the world be a better place if we could discuss it like adults and remeber if you feel you are right and the other persons wrong then I guess they'll go to hell when they die and whats worse than that?

    Thank

"Throw away your religious beliefs and open your eyes to the sad - yet unfortunate reality that we have no idea where we come from, where we are going or who made us."

i hate organized religions, they are as pointless as the endless style vs style arguments that take place on this forum. everyone thinks their way is best. all i have to say is stfu and leave me to smoke my bud in peace, cause i really dont wanna hear another person try to tell me what they think i need to be doing. i have better things to do, like staring at my wall and spacing out. every person is different, find your own away.

Jews and Chrisitians are the people of the book. This means that Muslims believe in both Moses and Jesus (P.B.U.H). Muslims believe they were right and the holy prophets of God. All people who followed them like they said were right also. Just like the Lord sent many prophets before the Lord sent Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Prophet Muhammd is the last prophet and Quran the Final book.

If you look at the orthodox Jews and Christians they both keep beards. They have the special hats and they look very similar. The women cover their hair. Nuns and Muslim women. We are the same people. We believe in the chain of prophethood. It is just Jews and Chrstians do not believe in Muhammad.

The Muslims believe that the people of the book got astray. That they changed their bible to fit their needs. The Quran is final book and will never change because the Lord has protected it and promised to.

Muslims believe that Jesus (P.B.U.H) will come to this world again and when he comes down all the Chrstians will become Muslims and Islam will spread through this world. The entire world will become Muslim.

Religion is not the problem in this world not following religion is the problem.

Well that is your opinion Dick and it is appreciated as much as anyone's however I am looking for something a little more constructive on the subject.I have found if you dislike an issue that much then saying nothing is better than pointing out that you don't want to talk about it. So if you hate it so much why are you even paying any attention to it?

Those are some good points but at the same time God speaks of free will. If he really wanted free will than the right to choose is still a persons right isn't it? I think that all religion personally is just a way to control people's thinking that is why it varies so much. Different people in diffrent parts of the world think differently. Besides if we all agreed on religion what would our leaders send us to war over?

*P.B.U.H. for those of you who may have missed this reference it means Peace Be Unto Him and is stated after speaking of any of the prophets of God in the Muslim religion.

i will say this though, one of my favorite religious figures is john the baptist. sadly there is very little information about him available, and what we do know is very questionable

and of all the religions ive had a chance to study, Zoroastrianism was one of the coolest.

                basic beliefs of zoroastrianism :

                1. There is one universal and transcendental God, Ahura Mazda, the one uncreated Creator and to whom all worship is ultimately directed.
                2. Ahura Mazda's creation - evident as asha, truth and order - is the antithesis of chaos, evident as druj, falsehood and disorder. The resulting conflict involves the entire universe, including humanity, which has an active role to play in the conflict (see #3 below).
                3. Active participation in life through good thoughts, good words and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep the chaos at bay. This active participation is a central element in Zoroaster's concept of free will, and Zoroastrianism rejects all forms of monasticism.
                4. Ahura Mazda will ultimately prevail, at which point the universe will undergo a cosmic renovation and time will end (cf: Zoroastrian eschatology). In the final renovation, all of creation - even the souls of the dead that were initially banished to "darkness" - will be (re)united in God.
                5. In Zoroastrian tradition, the malevolent is represented by Angra Mainyu, the "Destructive Principle", while the benevolent is represented through Ahura Mazda's Spenta Mainyu, the instrument or "Bounteous Principle" of the act of creation. It is through Spenta Mainyu that Ahura Mazda is immanent in humankind, and through which the Creator interacts with the world. According to Zoroastrian cosmology, in articulating the Ahuna Vairya formula, Ahura Mazda made His ultimate triumph evident to Angra Mainyu.
                6. As expressions and aspects of Creation, Ahura Mazda emanated seven "sparks", the Amesha Spentas, "Bounteous Immortals" that are each the hypostasis and representative of one aspect of that Creation. These Amesha Spenta are in turn assisted by a league of lesser principles, the Yazatas, each "Worthy of Worship" and each again a hypostasis of a moral or physical aspect of Creation.

Children are innocent, adults that act out are just stupid.

Thanks for turning my thread into a child abuse picture show Dick. For someone who above stated he wasn't into religion you sure have a lot of crap to shit all over my thread with.

So much for adult conversation and exchange of ideas. Let's just post pics of people being irresponsible and allowing underage children to play with something they need a few more years to become aware of and make an educated decision on.

I never thought "I" would say this to someone but Mr. Hardman maybe it's time you gave your brain a little THC break and detox a bit huh?

The Lord did give us free will. We are really free. We can do good and bad. We can follow religion and deny it. The only thing is that there is a system set for punishing bad and rewarding good. Even in this world we have such systems. Without a governing system there will be chaos.

I believe that this universe is perfect and only a perfect being could have created this.

In this world you can rape, murder and torture and still be treated like a king. I believe that there is an ultimate justice, a grip that no one can escape.

To me and 4/5 of the world it is only logical to believe in a religion and a supreme/perfect being.

I agree with you 100% on this world was created by something, but it is imperfect and perfect at the same time. I believe that balance governs this world and that "good" and "evil" are all conceptual. Religion tries to make sense of that balance but it is created by humans with limited human minds so we need a greater force to help us feel better about the fact that we really haven't scratched the surface yet.

I mean no offense by this, but the first person in most western people's live who teach us good and bad is rewarded and punished is Santa Claus and we learn this at a young age, almost as if it is conditioning for the step toward God.
