i didint try to derail your thread, matt blake did. you asked for other peoples opinions on religion and i gave you mine. its not my fault you didnt like my opinion, but you asked for it and i gave it to you. i also posted about the zaroastrian faith, so no im not trying to crap on your thread, i did contribute to it legitimately.

as for weed, many do consider it to be a religious sacrement. and as you said, when it comes to religion there is no absolute wrong or right. so you really shouldnt try to tell me i need to stop smoking weed.

my first post was posted out of my frustration with religion. despite some of the things i may say on this forum, i am a god fearing man for sure. however i just dont buy organized religion. as you mentioned, i feel its a way of controlling people. and inmop, all these stories and religious books just seem more like embellished myths rather than facts. for example, imam ali was a great man whos life was recorded by historians pretty well. however even the historical accounts of his life are full of embellishments, like he was reported to have lifted a wooden gate/door that 40 men couldnt. it just seems like paul bunion type stories that people have added to and taken away from and hyped up over the centuries and generations. another example is the new testamant, they were written at least a hundred years after jesus was dead, and their true authorship is unknown, and even the information in mathew marrk luke and john contradict eachother. muslims say that the koran was never changed, however it is a fact that usman had in his possession at least 4 different versions and HE CHOSE which version was "correct" and discarded the others, kinda like the church officials did when they were picking and choosing which books they wanted to include/discard in the new testament. i cant trust organized religion, but thats just me. there are plenty of people who have become better people cause of religion and thats fine. inmop everyone needs to do what they believe will bring them salvation/peace, if you think islam will get you there fine. if you believe judiasm is the way thats fine. its just like the martial arts inmop, theres no absolute way, everyone must find what works best for them.

I appreciate your post pointing out that some religions think weed is a religious sacrament I have heard that before and that is constructive. As for the points made in my first post not everyone is clear about those facts and religious differences and I feel I made that clear that is what I was posting that for.

In this world you can rape, murder and torture and still be treated like a king. I believe that there is an ultimate justice, a grip that no one can escape.

I agree with this as well I feel that what you do in this world will effect you in the afterlife. I also believe that what you do in this world will effect you now as well. Something like Karma. I feel this is where the golden rule came from.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

A lot of moral concepts seem to come from the cultures that we are born into, what may seem ludacris or disgusting and terrible to one person, may be an everyday normal thing to others.

Take Mormons for instance, they feel it is ok to have more than one wife, most religions feel this is totally immoral. I thinks its just crazy because I have one wife and she drives me nuts enough that two would put me in an asylum.

The Quran is the same and that is why we memorize it so it can never change even if you were to burn every Quran in this world it will still be in our hearts.

KingOfTheForst in Islam Muslims can have more than one wife. I would not say it is immoral simply because many prophets had more than one wife (P.B.U.T).

There is something that you should note. This is only allowed if we can treat both our wives the same. That is if you get a 1000 dollar ring for one then you must for the other. You spend two days with one then two days with the other and so on.

We must keep them at different homes.

It is allowed so the orphans and widows can easily get married.

It is allowed because to this day most men die in war so every women can have a husband.

It is allowed when you can not have a child with your first wife so you can marry a second wife to have a child. Also you should not devorce simply because your wife can not have a child.

Most Muslim men have one wife because like you said Forest one is enough for most men.

There are rules and regulations in my religion relating to having more than one wife. There is a limit and so forth.

thats great and all, but that doesnt mean it couldnt have been changed centuries ago while it was being compiled. can you prove that it wasnt changed? unless you heard muhammad recite everything himself then you really have no way of truly knowing what has or hasnt been changed.
