The Political threads should die off now that the Election is over. I know you are just joking but closing the CMA section would be a form of censorship, besides where would all the wing chunners go to discuss their art?

yeah lol i wasnt seriuos about that, its only cos KOTF asked and hes in there a lot. so thought id take that away from him
open access is very political and as much as it generates discussion it also causes huge divides.
Imo removal of politics from the forum would bring more martial artists and more martial arts discussion long term though may be quiet for a bit at the start.
its very off putting but it generates a lot of discussion among us. but only us. if that makes it clear.

I think it is hard to separate politics out from this forum. Martial Artists, are by thier nature, the kind of people that believe in self defense, getting involved and other things of that nature.
I never really question why most martial artists on this forum are very republican. I can see it. None of us want to be sheep, and we believe in protecting ourselves and our loved ones. That's why so many of us believe in the right to bear arms (even me, to some extent).
One of the things I love the most about this forum is that we are indeed allowed to talk about politics. Yes, I don't agree with most of what others say here, but I respect their right to say it, and honestly, it helps me see the other side of things some times.
I would not want to live in a world surrounded by people who think exactly like me. It would be a boring world.
The only thing I would like to see gone is the personal vendettas. Take Jubaji, for example. Sure he is mean, hornery, rude, but guess what? He is like that to everyone here, pretty much equally. He is not picking on one particular person, and he is super consistent with his meaness.
I can't say the same about Dick Hardman, I mean, "Uke". His whole existence here seems to be to get on Jubaji, and call him names. And when not doing that, he is picking on "Darrienation", I mean, Mike Brewer!!
So, argue all we want. It does not hurt anyone, but leave the ulterior motives at the door. This is supposed to be fun.
but this forum has veered away more and more from martial arts, i have nothing against he discussion of politics, but i think its directly responsible for dwindling user numbers.
so it comes at a price imo.
