I had deactivated my Facebook a while ago, but i still have recieved friend requests?

I know all about the deactivation and deletion differences, and all about the privacy settings, however, the problem i mentioned in the thread title is perplexing.


Facebook is more insidious than any personal search site such as Mylife , and Intellius.

I guess, when you deactivate your facebook account , things that happen that are not told to you are:

1) Your account name still shows up in certain areas (like friends lists)

2) If someone searches you for you in a particular way, the can get sent an error message saying, "This member has deactivated their account"............... wow, like i would want them to know i deactivated. It's almost like facebook is saying, "Hey look, John Doe deactivated his account, that's a very odd thing" .

I still have no facebook, twitter, and skype, and never had
