                    Personally i believe that all MA's are useful to some degree, some more so than others. It just depends what context you want to use the MA in.

                    For example, if you are a bouncer you may choose to practice Muay Thai and BJJ, as most people would agree is this a practical combination for self defence, where as a person who wants a MA to relax may choose Tai Chi.

                    As Great Sage stated,
                    "Many of the strikes are basically useless in fighting (try "Hungry Tiger Catches Goat" on an adversary and you'll know what I mean)."

                    but people practice MA's for different reasons, some for competitions, self-defence, etc.
