which has to represent the society in it's make up
That, my fine feathered friend, is a load of horseshit.

You are talking about quotas and equal results. Predetermining results when dealing with people is foolish, dangerous, and simply does not work. Does the phrase 'United Socialist Soviet Republics' mean anything to you?

There is no denial of the fact that history has been shitty to people for many reasons.

Taking from one to give to another is not right, no matter how you attempt to justify it. No matter how hard you try or how badly you want to... you cannot change the past.

        you freakin' socialist!

The country is polluted by people who refuse to think for themselves.

Clinton only lied because of sex.

Bush only lied to save us from Sadaam.

They're all the same. Politicians only care about staying in power. And all the apathetic denziens of the New Republic are linin' up to take it up the poop chute.

        Vive la Revolution!

Isn't that French for 'I give up'?

            Toudiyama,

I disagree with the idea that ten years of positive discrimination against a certain group is OK. As far as I'm concerned, discrimination is discrimination, and it is wrong.

When I speak positive discrimnation it means of two EQUAL qualified people you prefer one from a certain group because upto that moment they have been under represented or not represented at all
It shouldn't mean take the coloured person at all times

I know P discrimination is just discrimination and for that either against white people or Men but it is there to counteract the effects of discrimination
I know most prejudices and I do not doubt that a lot of upthight white managers handle according to them when hiring people
It's getting less but in some areas still clearly visible

Even in my country it's still hard for a colored person to get into engeneering jobs, I worked in electro engenering and when they do get a job it is the more dirty jobs

                Spanky:

Isn't more than normal that in a City like Amsterdam with a near 50% foreign( we call that allochtone) population ( near 150 nationalities) the policeforce has a lot of non white people ?

Toudi, I am guessing that English is not your primary language...so can you rephrase that statement? I'm not sure what you're getting at.

There is no way to go back and right the wrongs of history. You can't even change yesterday.

Two wrongs don't make a right, no matter how you paint the picture.

Toudi speaks quite good english most of the time. Better than some people who have english as a first language.

                    Imagine for a moment...

Two monkeys, one of them is evil. The one who is good gets it's tail chopped off by the other one who is evil. Several generations later the children of the injured monkey are still tail-less (genetic science does not exist here). Do you:

A: Chop off the tails of the monkeys descended from the evil monkey in an effort to make everything fair
B: Forget it it's in the past and the descendents of the evil monkey have done no wrong

I hope that helps to make things clearer

Yes you do seem a bit slow when it comes to my imagine sessions. Just close your eyes (while reading) and try to picture what I'm describing (make a picture of it in your head)

It was a point on whether you should try to aceive balance and equality using a period of even more unfairness or just leave things as they are.

Poor skitzopangwilax. Can't even spell his own name properly.

The way you write it, it looks like sssssszzzzzpankywix. Which as we all know is nonsense.

Spanky I simply mean that when a city has only 50% white people, I wouldn't considdered it normal if more than 90% of the policeforce was made up out of white people
a small town force would be something else

want another injuustice, within the context of religion it is allowed to discriminate against anybody

It's a grave injustice that the US didn't sign a treaty agains child labour and against the deathpenalty against kids

So again you are talking about equal outcome as opposed to equal opportunity.
