But out of courosity just what kind of cat is it?

Oh well i suppose he looks kind of cute, but at a distance.!!!

It is a puma (mountain lion?).... I think a young one but he is growing fast as he eats a lot of meat... my gf first told me first it is a wildcat and I realised afterwards he is a puma....

I don't know if he is always in a cage but there are also three other dogs (shepherd, wolfdog and a baby mixed rotweiller-shepherd) in the house and I don't know how they would interact with a free cat.... the house has many rooms and there is a garden but I think it may be a lot of trouble if he escapes in the neighbourhood. Maybe move him around the house-garden with a rope but then I don't know how strong he is and how he would react.... I have to admit that I am myself impatient to meet him but it won't be before next year.

If she wanted a wolfish looking dog she should have gotten an Alaskan Huskey.
I don't have a picture of the wolfdog but it is a very quiet animal.... not as affective as the shepherd but very disciplined (the shepherd is very playfull and sometimes steals things).... but if a stranger annoys him his eyes become red, he snarls and you quickly feels he can become dangerous...... it is not the kind of dog I would like to make angry.... I didn't see him much because my gf's mother used to keep him at her house....

Well perhaps the area in which your fiancé resides big (colossal) wild animals are prohibited by zoning laws, or perhaps you have to be licensed to have them.
I think peoples need a license there... there are bears and boars in the mountain but these are remote places...

Anyways as far as what it is goes it depends on what you consider a wildcat. I don’t know too much about big cats but it does look like a cougar (mountain lion), and they can to be very very big. No matter what kind of lead you use on the case if the cat wants to do something you are F**KED. Even a nose pierced lead would be useless because they'd just swipe you with one paw.
I've never met a puma myself but heard one got loose in the south France and attacked a jogging woman because he was hungry, thanks god his claws had been removed but the woman was seriously injured.....
I think mountain lions make sometimes problems in the US too.... but bears must be more common there...

I dont want to be paranoid or make you paranoid but i am really concerned hear. If she's this crazy (no offence) before you get married how bad will she be when she's married.
Actually the mountain lion is a gift from her mother.... I think her mother saw some big cats at one of her friend's place and wanted to give my gf one too as she likes animals....
Haha I actually like wild women, you'll never get bored with them, there is always action.... mine likes sailing, diving, fast driving, also martial arts. A very good point is that she let me practice martial arts whenever I want as it is part of the famillly tradition... Yes once married many women won't let you practice like before.....
All my friends had to reduce training when they got engaged-married....
Haha only bad point is that my gf is quick to become angry if she thinks I'm looking at other and she may pick up a fight with them....

Mabey she just really loves animals but these arent domesticated animals which you keep in your household.
That's also my opinion, although I didn't know wolfdogs were that savage...
I don't like the idea of having a mountain lion free in the house and hope he will stay in his cage....

I would back away slowly. I ran into alligators before but they are not aggressive. One time I saw a bear cub with my causin, and we ran, lol. That was probly the wrong thing to do, but we were young.

Aren't alligators agressive? I once saw a filipino saltwater crocodile in a crocodile farm, huge beast, they could devour anybody.... it went into the watter in my direction when it saw me and waited in the middle of the pond but I was behind the fence.....

Yes I don't think you should run if you see a bear, he may take it as a sign of weakness and see you as a prey.....

I think mountain lions would try to attack the neck and it should be protected, maybe kick/punch the cat on the nose-eyes if it attacks?, but this may not be easy....

That's a mighty big kitty to have roaming about....and just think of the flea baths you may have to give it? Have you ever bathed a domestic cat and won? You may have to consider cat bathing as a martial art???????? CAT BATHING AS A MARTIAL ART....... a new forum ......but seriously didn't you hear about the guy that was keeping a tiger and a gator in his apartment here, in the Bronx????...(where r u located again?) well no matter, I'll have to forward the copy to you........

Anyways this reminds me of Steve Irwin the Crocadile hunter. The difference with him though is that he knows when he is in danger and isnt. It isnt as though most of his crocs are going to excape and attack him in the lunch room or anything like that.
This guy (Irvin) is really crazy.... I think he will get killed one day...
i saw him once on TV, craziest thing I saw him do was walking through the bush in front of a pack of lions....Did you also see how he hold his todler in front of a crocodile he was feeding with chicken? I think he even got sued for this....

haha when I was younger I tried to catch a kind of varan (not the komodo varan but was two feet long), thanks god it escaped, it could have bitten me badly had I caught it (well Irvin did it).

Just sending you the abstracts from the articles, you can search the NEW YORK POST archives for further info if you wish........you must admit....if there's an acquaintance you don't like....just invite them to your home for dinner...... and also since pit bulls for drug dealers are so passe now LOL....

"Tiger Man" Antoine Yates - busted for keeping a quarter-ton tiger in his Harlem apartment - came to a Manhattan court yesterday with three bodyguards, his Johnny Cochran-firm lawyer, his sister, his state assemblyman, the assemblyman's assistant, and more than a dozen activists, some toting camera-ready placards.
Antoine Yates] is facing up to seven years' prison for allegedly endangering his neighbors by keeping [Ming] and a 4-foot alligator- like caiman in his apartment at Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and 142nd Street.

LOL, i like Irwin, he riminds me alot of me. Anyways he had the baby in an arm away from the croc and was feading the croc with another hand. He did dangle the babby when the croc was turned away. Granted having the baby in there peroid was stupid, but croc's can only lunge quickly, and can outrun Irwin. The other thing is that he was worked with animals his whole life and understands them more than somebody who just gets a big kitty.[/QUOTE]

This tiger-gator story really shows that reality can go beyond fiction....
This guy could at least have kept the tiger in a cage.....

Yes Irwin probably understands crocodiles but what if he slips on some water, on a piece of chicken, on a slippery portion of the floor? One can suppose he could maybe manage to survive the attack but probably not the child.
Anyway I am sure half of the peoples watching his show are expecting an accident to happen.....
I kind a like the guy too, he has guts and has done a lot for animals but one day he will go too far and make a fatal mistake... you cannot keep playing with fire without getting burned ....
