Tai chi means suppream ultimate. It represents everything that exists, wich came from the wu-ji, the void of potential. So to a person, tai chi is the live they lead, in accordance with the Tao. Qigong is the component movements and breathing. You cant do tai ch, you are tai chi. The fact is without the movements, you can still live a tai chi life. as for styles being better than this and that. I cant believe people still cling to such monotounous statements. You must think fighting is like painting a masterpiece, well its not it like hitting a nail into a plank of wood. If I told you I was a, karatea for example. You would come up with some kind of gameplan, and I would now have an advantage. Just a light response nothing serious concerning somebodies opinion of karate in a fight. You are assuming the karate practitioner is in some sort of cage match or similar brawling situation. Most effective technique in karate is gouging the eyes. It's in every style of karate I am familiar with. The US military teaches you to gouge eyes during your first basic training in hand to hand. IE it must be effective. Street brawling for you young bucks seems to be a peeing contest. I am 40, take care of 7 children and 2 special needs people. I am confident if I needed to use shorin ryu to defend myself against a brawler I can and have taken even the younger guys down with a simple flick to the eyes. If you are gonna compare MMA type brawling to a real street fight you can use MMA and I will take a simple baseball bat. See how effective it is after 1 blow to the head.

Not to disparage YOU personally but your kung-fu is simply DOGMA until you actually USE it as you claim...

I hope you never face a potentially deadly situation. I would never wish trauma on anyone but there is more to be said for losing a real fight than can be said for "winning" ten thousand trophies for Kata.

Without "PROOF" all you have is a theory, a concept, an OPINION and your faith in Kung=Fu.
