here's the answer to your questions......
Originally posted by CKDHey I got a question for you Sherwinc. If kung fu so great than why do the chinese police learn muay thai and the Taiwanese tae kwon do? Also with the 1 and 3 inch punch how come no one is damaged? They just fall back having no apparent damage done to them.
2. One and a three inch punch? its no apparent damage?
It only shows that even within a 1-inch of range - that punch has its tremendous force, then, how about if it delivers within 12-inch of distance, the power of punch is truely awesome. but, if the punch starts from the side of the waist and to the target so the opponent will only telegraph it cause more distance is emphasize.
The shortest distance between point A and Point B is a straight line. With just 12inch of distance from point A and Point B simultaenously by twisting action of fist, and delivers the hand attacks thru waist twisting and not the shoulder = produce tremendous amount of power compare to 1-and-a-3inch punch which delivers in a distance of an inch(1inch distance only) but you can too see the power that the opponent pushes away.
Now, its your turn, cause i answer your question and yet, you still dont answer my questions....

What questions do you have? and the Chinese police started learning muay thai in the 90s when they got the best martial art masters from China and used there lab to see which one was the strongest. They took muay thais striking, judos throws, and wrestling takedowns to create there martial art. The police did not stop learning kung fu because it was self offence it is a communist country they are allowed to beat up criminals it was because of the test to get a good martial art. Which was Sanda a combination of muay thai, wrestling and judo. Not only does the police learn Sanda but the military and everyone else. Now look at the kung fu people on these videos www.tassos.de/videos/SifuTassos1.mpg www.sheenpeak.com/NgvsChan.WMV do you think they can take muay thai?

but this WMV file of yours is a stupid kungfu in a ring, it is not what type of kungfu that i expected.
I just want to know if what are your some comments on the MPG file and not that WMV file - that you insist that this is not effective to the Muay Thai? since this is one of the best to exchange ideas...

MPG wingchun/ WMV taiji
Sifu Tassos was extremely quick and obviously controlling his level of contact, but his partner threw jabs at 2/3 speed and crosses at 1/2 speed. This is good if you're fighting an untrained assailant of similar size, who doesn't have much technique or speed. Since the average person doesn't have much martial arts training, its fine. Sifu Tassos could have also used more devastating techniques (but didn't for obvious reassons).
IMO wing chun has faster hands than most traditional martial art styles except kenpo and western boxing and develops reflexes and hand eye coordination quickly it seems.
wing chun has yet to make a presence in the mixed martial arts world or full contact kickboxing. It has plenty of good techniques that are legal in different tournaments (punching, elbow, knees and low kicks). Where are the pure wing chun fighters? Not trying to flame.
The taiji match in the WMV shows exactly why the gongfu masters in the 70's lost to the thaiboxers. Their hands were down, they turned their backs and couldn't really control their range (no footwork) plus their blocks were over commited leaving openings. What these gong fu masters lacked are the fundamentals of western boxing.

The wing chun dude is the guy with the shirt on. and heres wing chun in a kyoukushin tournament. https://www.bullshido.net/modules.ph...download&cid=1 and a mma vs kung fu. The wing chun fighter couldn't defend the double leg, gave up the cross body position and lost the mount. He came to the fight with 0 grappling skill whatsoever.
Against the kyokushin fighter he tried to close distance and slap the heavier karate guy 1,000 times until the kyokushin guy landed a solid kick.
These wingchun guys probably only train against other wingchun fighters or MA ists who don't try to make too mutch contact. Its probably in the training. The serious gong fu fighters probably train in sanda, shuai jiao and chin na.
Cung Le (US), Geriletu (Mongolia), Liu Hailong (China), Matt Furey (US) are better examples of fighters who successfully use Chinese arts.

Originally posted by CKDI never really considered sanda a chinese martial art. Its a combination of muay thai, judo, and wrestling. How is that a chinese martial art?
The Chinese took muay thai, wrestling and judo and labelled it san da, a formidable stand up style with striking and grappling. Its not the first style to incorporate striking/clinching/takedowns, but it seems to publicly work well against professional boxers and decently against muaythai fighters. Cung Le beat Shonie Carter, I think. That shows that san shou is legit.
Do the chinese have a modernized weapons fighting system? What do you make of the wing chun butterfly swords and staff sets??

I don't think there is such a thing as a truly worthless martial art.
An open minded martial artist can learn something useful from any art.
Personally I find aikido to be too indirect for me, too passive and defensive, but that doesn't mean their joint locks are worthless, I simply take what I like from it and adapt it to my style.

In KungFu, Poison Hand and Iron Palm is very very important. Imagine hitting 1,000 with the hands of Iron Palm to hit a Karate Guy before that Karate Guy hit you a solid Kick??????
Imagine this:
combining.......
WingChun KungFu (Short Distance / Scientific Rapid Hand Combinations / Chi Sau Autopilot / Shaolin Based )
with......
Chin Na KungFu ( Short Distance / Poison Hand - Cavity Pressing / Taoist Based )
with......
Southern Eagle Claw KungFu ( Short & Medium Distance / Bloody Gripping Claws )
result......
even UFC will pray for their painful defeat
Note:
no matter what style will you combine as long as "all solid KungFu" is the best.
a beautiful blend of Shaolin/Taoist Based, Internal/External KungFu, Hard/Soft, UltraShort/Short/Medium/Long Distance fights, Bloody/Bruises.
think about it..... you simply know that this is the right combination yet you all pretending dumb.....
The only reason why Chinese Martial Arts especially Chinese Fighters dont join the UFC and K1 it is because if the join - within or before 60seconds - blood will split on the floor, accuse and go to jail, lot of bruises, they will all abandon their non-kungfu arts and turn to a true kungfu, and most of all they don't want to expose their medium to advanced kungfu combinations.
yes, this is really a rediculous and a nonsense but thru this - this is the truth. A true art is a rediculous and a nonsense and unnacceptable if you defeated.... why???? example.... if i tell you that i can communicate you using my celphone to your celphone (using no wires attach to our celphones) even a matter of miles away would you believe me???? then you have to answer me - its rediculous, its a nonsense, its a stupid and stop taking drug pills. (maybe you would say how can you send a message in celphone to celphone if they have no wires/string attach to both end of the celphone?????)
CONVINCED?????????

If you honestly believe that the reason Chinese Fighters don't join the UFC and K1 is because if they join - within or before 60seconds - blood will split on the floor, they will be accused and go to jail, there will be alot of bruises, and that other arts will all abandon their non-kungfu arts and turn to a true kungfu, and most of all they don't want to expose their medium to advanced kungfu combinations then I suggest you get off whatever drugs you are on because this is pure and simple B.S.
No non-kung fu art in UFC or K1 would ever want to change their art to Kung Fu and why is that? Simply because all of the arts in UFC and K1 are unbeatable by Traditional Asian Arts. These arts don't waste their time with stupid katas they learn techniques that they apply and use them for both offensive and defensive side.A kung fu master, karate master, tkd master, etc.would lose in any ring especially in fights like UFC,Sabaki Challenge,K1 and a few other ones.Pankration, shooto, muay thai, submission wrestlers and judo fighters would kick ass on any kung fu,karate and tkd person both in and out of the ring simply because they base their stuff not just in full contact tournaments but also on reality based street-defense.
Your stances, knife hand strikes and finger strikes, eagle claw, iron palm and poison hand would never work in the ring or street.
The only thing on the street that would make it impossible for them to use their stuff in self-defense is a gun or a knife being pulled out unexpectedly.Karate,Kung Fu and Tkd may learn some knife defense but when they freeze in a real fight their knife defense will not work and no art will work against a gun the reason I bring up weapons in here is because I know some other moron is bound to bring it up saying this and that won't work against a knife when in fact no art will work against a knife unless it is Arnis or Kali or something similar.

Karate and Tae Kwon Do will not work on Street Fights, only KungFu is the Best........
