    Website: Chinese Swordsmanship Seminar 2008
Additional Information: The city of Emeryville presents a rare opportunity to learn the art of fighting with the Chinese Jian (Straight sword) from world-renowned teacher of Yang Family Taiji Quan, Scott M. Rodell. Rodell has been training in this system for over 20 years, and has traveled extensively throughout the world learning parts of this system from the best teachers he could find.

The dates for Rodell's second West Coast trip are April 4 & 5, 2009. He will bring his vast knowledge to up to 12 interested individuals. The small class size is to help facilitate a quality learning environment.

What is unique about this class is it is an opportunity to learn sword fighting from one of the best this country has to offer without having to devote years to training in martial arts. Typically sword forms are not taught to students unless they have trained in a martial art style for a long time, so this is a short-cut straight to the sword.

The class will consist of two six-hour sessions and time permitting Rodell may begin teaching the first part of the rarely seen MiChuan Jian form.
