sorry for posting this in here but I thought if anyone would know it would be you guys, ok I've never been in combat, been like raped/molested ect. but everything else/been in some very bad stuff that I'm not going to go into so the sickos can't get a semi, inspite of this, other than having what I'd describe as anger flare ups during the day where I wig out for like 2-3 seconds if I think about certain "incodents" I've got no probs, anyway a relitive of mine like does some kind of low volume screaming in their sleep and I have to wake them if I'm sleeping over there cause it keeps me awake, to my knowlegde this person hasn't been in like 1% of the shit I've been in and I NEVER have bad dreams about any of my past stuff the only thing I ever dream about is being able to fight again, run again and women that's it.My question is why is this person screaming in low volume in their sleep(btw they have a past history of mental probs) when they haven't been in like any bad stuff ,and I sleep like a baby with all the bad stuff I've got on my hard drive, so why the noise should they see someone about this???? they are a male family member btw.

Dreams come from the subconcious mind, thus the person may not realize what the trauma is. It could be from early childhood or too painful for the concious mind to remember,. Self hypnosis tapes can help and so can a professional therapist. iF Drugs and or alchol are involved you have to be extra careful.

You're relative has some issues and a history of mental illness, correct? Moans in his sleep could be something related to his psychosis...if it's more of a gasping for air, then it's apnea, and has little to do with his mental state, and more to do with his physical state.
It's true, you could have supressed memories...but from what you say, it seems that you know EXACTLY what troubles you. This is a good thing, because with a little bit of therapy you can talk through it and learn to leave some more of it in the past.
Being able to fight again, run again? What happened?

Of course, it sounds more like you're making a case for yourself here than asking about someone else. Are you looking for some kind of reassurance that you're not mentally disturbed, or are you asking for your friend?

actually I'm pretty good now mike
and thanks for all the advice, the only reason I used myself as a compairson is I can't figure out wtf could be bothering this person and I have never heard of this type of phenomia before, the only thing I can think of would be someone in a war or a chick that got raped having like ptsd or something, some people don't belive in that anyhow. In the future I'll s.t.f.u about anything about me as it's in my rearview mirror anyway, So I won't say another word abot it thanks for the good advice and sorry if I pissed you off in any way

everyone has issues. it's part of life and nothing to be ashamed of. neither is seeking help when you need it.
perhaps your relative should consult a sleep center as well as a psychologist, because from what I've heard, his condition might not be just mental, it could be a semi-serious physiological affliction known as sleep apnea. It is when a person, for whatever reason, stops breathing for a few seconds while sleeping. Gasping or moaning, sucking for air...all tell-tale symptoms.
or is he screaming or crying?
