  • Style or styles used by would be "agents, a spy, what have you"

The general question would be: What style or styles do they use to train a soldier or covert op = to say Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity movies.
I would imagine that there is many styles and techniques used. Is there one that they use for a basic basis for learning? Maybe there is a former agent that could read this and tell us all what kind of training you have. If it is not "classified" or anything!

I knew a former travel agent who studied tae kwon do for fitness and self-defense. Travel agents are pretty sedentary, but otherwise excellent sales people.

Tae kwon do is a pretty good art for self-defense. Most of the empty handed strikes are with the open hand -- using the palm heel, 'blade' of the hand, ridge of the hand, fingers and lastly knuckles.

They practice these strikes from various stances, some good for fighting, some not so good. Beginners work on step sparring; all pracitioners hit the pork-chop paddles and more advanced practitioners do some form of contact sparring.

Tae kwon do stylists are notorious for being excellent kickers! They can kick high, cold and hard -- meaning they will be standing with arms folded and be able to throw a head level, say hook kick to the head with tremendous speed and power.

what i noticed in the bourne identy movies is that matt damon uses a few improvised weapons. like in the 2nd one he used a rolled up magazine to fight one guy. in the trailer of the new one it shows him shoving a book into someones throat.

I read a story somewhere about someone using an ATM card to the same effect.
