I can’t do it anymore. Feels like my shoulders are going to pop out. Maybe I should be taking joint supplements? Should guys our age still be lifting like a 30 year old? Curious to know how you’re exercising.

Guys in your 50s and 60s, do you still lift weights to failure?

I’m in my 50s and still lift weights, but I don’t push to failure like I used to. Over the years, I’ve found that it’s more about intelligent training than just going all out every time. I still push myself, but I’ve learned to listen to my body and give it the recovery it needs. Lifting heavy to failure can be hard on the joints, so I tend to focus more on controlled movements and reps with moderate weight. Recovery has become just as important as the lifting itself. If you're considering adding more intensity, just ensure you do it safely. I’ve seen some guys my age turn to things like purchase steroids, but I haven’t gone down that route. It's all about finding balance and knowing what works for you.
