  • Updated my new website with the same URL, SEO tips?

    Hey all,

Quick question. I recently rebranded my website for the better (both designed on Webflow). We went live last night and now I’m wondering what to do with the old website, specifically around SEO.

I’d like to have Google recognize my new website since the wording is completely different and updated.

Any recommendations on how to get that process started? Before I unselected anything SEO related on my old site, I wanted to ask the community!

Also, any tips for updating this as well in Google Analytics would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

If you’ve replaced the old site, it’s no longer relevant at all regarding SEO. Focus all of your attention on how you want the new site to be SEO’d, your page titles, url slugs, descriptions, H1’s etc.

That’s great you’ve updated your website and kept the same URL! A good first step is to make sure all your old links still work properly and redirect correctly if you’ve changed anything. Also, updating your sitemap and resubmitting it to Google can help speed things up. Don’t forget to check your page load speed and mobile-friendliness, since they matter for SEO. Adding fresh content regularly, like blog posts, can also keep your site active. If you want more detailed tips, you might find 3renseo.com helpful.

I see it's been a while since this was posted, but I'm curious—how has your site's SEO been performing since the update? Have you noticed any ranking changes, good or bad? I’ve heard that keeping internal links consistent after an update can help search engines understand structure better. Did you run into any indexing issues with search engines after making the changes?

If your rankings dropped after the update, it might be worth checking if your old URLs are redirecting properly and if all your metadata carried over. I had a similar issue and found that some of my key pages weren’t indexed anymore. An ecommerce seo agency could also help spot technical issues that might not be obvious, like site structure problems or duplicate content that could be holding your rankings back.

SEO ranking isn’t just about buying backlinks every month and waiting for results. You need a comprehensive SEO strategy, including on-page optimization, local SEO, content marketing, and technical SEO. Focus on optimizing your Google Business Profile, building local citations, improving website speed, and creating high-quality content. Since you're in Los Angeles, it’s best to work with a proven agency like Growth Friday that's affordable SEO in Los Angeles, which specializes in SEO for competitive markets.
