Hotels in Las Vegas

I am coming to Vegas Sunday, March 19 and have to get my own hotel room for Sun and Mon nights. Point of this is, I wanted to know which hotels to stay away from?
I was looking at circus circus and a couple others. Any input on your personal experiences is appreciated!

Stayed at the Circus in November for SEMA . Close to the convention center which is good , the restaurants at the resort were not so hot , that was bad.

I stayed at the mercure perth hotel last year and chatted with a couple from Vegas who mentioned how crazy packed the Strip can get during big car events. They suggested looking at places just a bit off the main drag for cheaper rates and quieter nights. Also, parking for trailers is hit or miss, so it's worth double-checking with the hotel before booking.
