We had a miscarriage last year. After taking care of some health issues, we decided to TTC November. I tested positive Christmas morning. We are excited and nervous. Praying for a healthy pregnancy. I currently have normal/dry combination skin with some stretchmarks. I've been breaking out these past couple of weeks. Does anyone have skincare and makeup recommendations that's pregnancy safe? Does anyone recommend a specific collagen to promote skin elasticity?

I cannot manage without my vitamin c face serum. I stopped using it for a month in October and swore I’d never do that again.

I totally get how tricky it can be to find the right skincare routine. If you’re looking for something gentle yet effective, I’d recommend starting with a basic cleanser, like a hydrating one, to keep your skin feeling fresh but not stripped. Then, a good moisturizer is key to keep everything balanced. If you want to take it up a notch, you might want to add a vitamin C serum in the morning—it helps brighten the skin. I’ve been loving cpin for some great options! Everyone's skin is different, but it’s all about trial and error, so don’t be afraid to experiment a little.

For pregnancy-safe skincare, try a gentle cleanser like CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, a moisturizer like La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair, and a mineral sunscreen like EltaMD UV Clear. Luna Pimple Patches can help with breakouts without harsh ingredients. For makeup, Ilia, BareMinerals, and RMS Beauty offer safe options. Instead of collagen supplements, focus on collagen-boosting foods like bone broth, eggs, and vitamin C-rich fruits. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

First of all Congratulations on your pregnancy! For skincare, I’ve been loving CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, niacinamide for breakouts, and EltaMD UV Clear SPF. For stretch marks, Bio-Oil and Earth Mama Belly Oil are gentle and effective.
For collagen, I’ve heard great things about Needed Collagen Protein (OB-approved, but always double-check).
Sending you lots of love and hoping for a smooth, healthy pregnancy for you!
