Stairmasters are crap, in my opinion.

If you are looking for that type of cardio, nothing beats running and jump roping. If that gets boring for you, supplement them by doing plybox training at a cardio level.

    But a Stairmaster? Blah.

As far as your knees are concerned, it really depends on your knees. If you have weak knees, you might notice it... you might not. I don't really think it has too much of an adverse affect, though.

Correct! Concerning the knees: if you had trauma or any trouble with you knees before, Stairmaster is no-no, at lest until you condition your knees. Otherwise no problem

Hey thanks for the info guys. My main cardio workout is a mix between plyometrics, shadow boxing, and liners; and i think i will supplement the jump rope for the stair master. By any chance do either of you guys know of a good jump rope routine, other than just regular jumping rope? Just curious, either way i will incorporate jump roping as 'extra' cardio.

Stairmaster 4400cl constant heart rate program

          Hi there

i have a Stairmaster 4400cl - with 9 programs and technician slot. i miss the "constant heart rate program" from the older 6 program version.

nautilus said - it was a customer wish to remove this - as it was too complicated for the standard gym user. (i.e. it takes two minutes until you rech your pulse you want to have- some people claimed after 30 secs - that it does not work - and the stairmaster service was bored to explain again and again ...)

NOW my question: Is there anybody outside - who has a technician card - to update my 4400cl so that i.E. one program i do not use is substituted to an constant heart rate program ?

technical arrangement is there - polar coded receiver is integrated in my 4400cl - its just a question of the software ...

          pimp my 4400cl - please help !
