Hi, I'm new to these forums, just registered but I was lurking on them for a month or so
Anyway, I'm 15 (16 in 2 weeks), I'm about 5'8 or 5'9, and 130lbs. I want to get bigger. My body is mostly muscle as I'm young and I eat healthy (I haven't eaten fast food, chocolate bars, or really sugary stuff like pop for 6-7 months now), and I lift weights/work out regularly. Although I'd like to increase my muscle mass, I hear a lot of people on this board just say to eat a ton.
My biggest problem I think is that I go to school and it's harder to eat as much as I should be eating. I was thinking of taking 2-3 protein/energy bars to school, because I am pretty lazy when it comes to making things like lunches and what not, would this be worth it or no? Do any of you guys have any suggestions of how I can eat a lot but without making lunches if not necessary? The cafeteria food is really greasy and unhealthy generally, except on Tuesdays which is when they serve homemade type pasta stuff, which I usually get.
I go to Muay Thai classes 2 or 3 days a week, and lift weights on the other days (yeah I alternate what parts to work out), I used to run almost everyday in the summer/fall, but now it's cold and there's snow out, so I haven't done much cardio since it started snowing, except what I do at Muay Thai, I don't fight yet but I plan on it, so I could get away without doing any cardio until I got bigger, probably, right? It's not like I need to lose any fat at all...
Anyway, sorry for this post being unorganized and such, I just want to get bigger and it's kinda hard when I have to eat a lot, but school cuts into that.
Also a lot of you guys have said cut down on carbs and just eat protein if possible, but being 15 would eating carbs be bad (not bad like unhealthy bad, but for gaining muscle) for me? It's not like I gain much fat, if any?
So yeah... Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
