DO NO DEHYDRATE YOURSELF. Not to be rude, but there is NEVER an excuse for that. Never, never, never, never dehydrate nor starve yourself, you will only do massive damage and recieve negative gains in whatever goal you wish to achieve unless it is a painful death possibly.

If you want to lose weight then practice 50 punches with each arm in 4 different stances. It will equal up to 200 over all and if you do it right will start you on an upper body workout. Along with that do 50 blocks the same. The two stances are right foot in front of the left, and then vice versa. Use right hand 50 times, left hand 50 times, switch feet, then right hand 50 times, and then left hand 50 times. Same with blocks. It may seem weak to some, but you will in time feel the difference. Then once it feels natural to do that and your punches and blocks go in almost the same path, then increase to 100, then 150, then 250, then 500 with each hand in increments not getting in a rush. A rush means improper training and you lose a lot of the benefit. On the blocks, you do it in like a waxing move from outside to inside, then inside to outside, that is one rep of it with that arm. Trust me, you will feel the results and stay as hydrated as you can and eat a proper diet, especially good in protein, fiber, and calcium.

For your lower body, do a jog for about 1/2 a mile, then when that feels normal go to 1 mil, then 2 miles, then 3 miles, then 4, then 5 increasing it by the mile. Also do leg kicks in reps. Same two stances, waxing kick in, waxing kick out, same as if blocks or punches. Then to work on your tummy a bit, do very slow situps, about 20, then 40, then 50, then 75, then 100. If you do them slow and do it right it should burn. Then to do stretches while working your midsection, both front and back, stand with your feet under their respective should, kinda like you're riding a horse type stance except not as far down. Then sway your shoulders left until your right shoulder is 90 degrees to both your right and left foot and in front of your strating position, then sway to your right until your left shoulder does the same which is then one rep. Be sure that always ending your rep count, that you end up back into your starting position. Start with 25 reps, then 50 reps, then increase it as needed in reps by 50 afterwards. You will lose fat, gain muscle, and become a lot healthier that way, plus increase your possible fighting potential.

      A week? That's easy!

Cut your calories in half, and double your workout time. If you still have a pound or so to go by the end of the week you can cut some water at the last minute (no, it won't kill you as some might suggest-- but don't make a lifestyle out of it). You can cut a bunch of weight temporarily by cutting water (its most of your body after all), but you should put it back as soon as possible, and don't overdo it or you'll trash your body over time. Don't overdo it! 6 pounds in a week should be no big deal without cutting water anyway.

Jubaji, thank you for your wrestling experience goodness.

When I am preparing for a tournament, I normally average about 3-5 miles a day anyway.... running isn't going to lose weight lol. I am going to cut out some calories tomorrow (Wednesday) and boost my cardio by about 30 minutes on Wed and Thurs. I should make weigh-in on friday easily.... and besides.... 1 day of dehyrdation isn't so bad. It's just the guys who cut +20 pounds I have to wonder about lol.... But I am no expert.

I will say the 200 punches and the 5 mile thing won't cut it.... that would be a break from my normal workout routine....

30 minutes of technique, 20 minutes of stretches-warmups-calisthenic deals, 30 minutes of cardio, 60 minutes of grappling, 15 minutes of strength training, give or take a few.... monday thru thursday.

also.... starving yourself for short periods of time, otherwise known as fasting can have great spiritual and mental gain.... Silly McDojos, how else am I going to escape my flesh and boost my chi power!?!?

well badger sounds like you're on the right track. however i would check into the negative effects of cutting that much weight in that short of a time period. anyways if you want to see the holy grail of fasting, then go to www.dragondoor.com and check out the WARRIOR DIET man is this an awesome diet. it's given me the fat burning i've needed and boosted my energy. might i also suggest checking out kettlebells while your there.

It is true that good advice can be overdone, but he has no reason to dehydrate and if you must go that far, then you would go for a more realistic goal. I see no reason for someone to dehydrate themself because to do so messes up your electrolytes and can cause your body to "fear" water loss and make you retain a much higher amount of water.

There's no need to panic. The body loses and regains water all the time. Cutting a little water won't kill ya.

I agree with Jubaji 6lbs isn't too bad. I would also not severly decrease water, limit the calories to like 500-600per day or so (I usually eat a can of tuna and steam brocolli or tuna an tomato for luch then a peice of fruit later in teh day). Also, absolutely no diuretics (I know you didn't ask but just incase).

What I think will definately help arte plastics just tak a regualar garbage bag and poke out holes for arms and head, and sweat shirt and pants. If you want to spend the money buy a sauna suit about $7-10 at any sporting store. The benefiit is that your body from the neck down will be covered you will loose a lot of water weight this way. I like running at night and then going to bed after so you are not not drinking right after the run.

Oh, one thing after you run take off the plastics in the bathtub so you don't get water all over you floor.

Also, do not underestimate the power of the jump rope definately helpful.

                    Just my 2 cents

What the hell are you doing 6 lbs over just 1 week before weigh-in? STOOPID!

No, cutting water wont kill you, but it'll leave you weak and drained and your opponent will throw ya around like a rag doll.

Wrap yourself up in plastic and sit in a car in the sun - Try some diuretics and lots of caffeine and chewing tobbacco.

Report back, I'll be interested to find out how you do.

Only a dumbass teenage moron would find it necessary to cut weight one week before a match (Yeah, I know, theres a whole lot of them in collegiate wrestling). Shows a STOOPID lack of maturity. If youre an athlete an your goal is to compete you dont wait till the last minute to qualify unless youre just too busy smoking weed and whacking off in the toilet. You perpare gradually. I useto wrestle at the 215# class and had to cut weight a couple times to go down to the 189. The results were not good.

Wrestling is for queers like you anyways, who enjoy getting that close to a sweaty smelly grunting boy, jujubean.
