    Good article maximus. Very insightfull.

What is your opinion on circuit training? What I mean by circuit training is you take 6-8 excercises that work the entire body (bench, lunges, chinups, upright row, pull ups, dips, arm curls and dead lifts) and use a weight that you can do explosively with good form for 12-20 reps.

When finishing one excercise, you go straight into the next with no break. After you complete one circuit, not only are your muscles feelin' it but so is your wind. You rest maybe for 1 min. Your work to rest ratio is about 3:1 (insert sherwinc joke here)

This has helped keep me quick.

I have used the same exercise routine idea, but not with the whole body. I'll have to check that out.

      Sounds good.

        in regards to circuit training

well, i find with circuit training it is good for trimming down, especially if your one of those ppl who have a hard time keeping the weight down.

i find that with the workout i have posted, well say your grappling, and the time tickin away then after several minutes or rounds you need a huge burst of energy...there it is. i personally have noticed this, don't get me wrong nothing can and will replace "cardio"

Also, the "circuit" i am referring to is where you have all your exercises picked out, you do ex. 30sec exer.1, 10sec steps, 30sec exer.2, 10sec steps...and so on

I've tried doing 20x1, resting a minute between each set. Found it real boring. I think working the whole body is maybe better. Next time I'm not even going to look at the clock, just try to finish the workout as fast possible.

good for you, cept if u took time to read the article you;d see how the aim is to do more of a 20 to 30x4 with more like 20 or 30 sec rest,.
oh and "boring" sounds like a lazy mans excuse

T.Y.,how many circuit's would you suggest one do with the exercises you've giving above? And do you add more to that such as run,sprints,sled's,etc..., or do you split that off for another day?
