          Read the first part of the thread. Notice how I said "work". Not "make". I did say it the first time.

            Always tuck your elbows as close to your body as you can. But don't sacrifice form.

              Keeping the elbows close to the body transfers more work to the triceps. Wide push-ups work the pectorals more. Simple.

                      By keeping your elbows in close to your body, you'll be working more of your triceps, not chest. Wide stance push-ups will build over all chest mass and triceps will be the secondary muscles hit.
