You dufusbrains, if your leg has been giving you agony, GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! Otherwise, you might end up like me, who tore his hamstring and was stupid and didn't stretch it while it healed. What I thus got was a super-stiff hamstring cuz of the inflexible scar tissue that had healed over it. I had to stretch it and actually re-pull it a few times even (and hamstrings take long to heal) to thus get it back to being healthy again, but that took like 4 years. 4 FRIGGIN' YEARS all because I didn't check with a proper guy to learn how to heal it PROPERLY. It is all fine now though
You say you injured a muscle from the knee down, well, believe me, if it agonizes you for more than a day, GET IT CHECKED!! You never know if you may screw yourself up cuz you let the tissue heal wrong.

I know the last post was a long time ago. And Spudman is probably feeling fine by now, but I wanted to add something in case somebody else reads this.
Listen to Broadsword2004, see a doctor, or find a friendly nurse to check out your injury.
Also, dont skip martial arts lessons. Good teachers know a lot about anatomy and physiology. They now what stretches and excersises can help or hinder healing. It is usually best to keep excersising muscles to make sure they heal properly. Confront your instructor with the fact that you have an injury. A good instructor will let you exercise off to the side and take things at your own pace, while still teaching you valuable information.

Knee injuries
I wanted to post becuase I hurt my knee, very badly, playing soccer. I tore the ACL, which is a pretty nasty tear. I wanted to agree with the posters who said to go to a doctor ASAP. I luckily found a good physical therapist a few years later and he turned me on to some good exercises to strenghthen the muscles that support the knee. But, if I'd found someone right away I could have avoided a lot of complications (the problem with knee injuries or leg injuries of any kind, is that if you just "manage" you'll probably put more stress on the other leg and eventually have problems on both sides). So, even though of course I'd rather not have torn anyything, I think my injury has made me concentrate more on form and on keeping my legs really strong, which has probably helped me a lot in MT.

Out of curiosity how long, what did it take, and were you able to go back to MT training after your ACL injury? You see I ask because I recently Injured my knee and may have torn my ACL during some MT training. I see my OS in two weeks to find out.
