  • dropping bodyfat

ok, i've got my workout and diet down, now i need advice on cardio to cut my BF%, but first this is my routine:
    Arms:
    Monday (after whole body)
    Dumbbell Curls (super setted with…)
    Dips

    Wednesday
    Barbell curls
    EZ bar Tricep Ext

    Friday (before whole body)
    Preacher curls
    Pull Downs

    Everything Else:
    Workout 1
    Bench
    Incline
    C&P
    side Lats

    Workout 2
    Lats
    Rows
    Shrugs
    Lower Back

    Workout 3
    Squats
    Step Ups
    Calves
    Forearms

This is 5 days a week in a 12312, 31231, 23123 pattern, arms always on MWF with alternating light and heavy weeks. I'm taking in about 2100 cal and almost 200g of protein a day, with moderate carbs and fat, of course i eat less on rest days. I lift in the morning about 1 hr after i wake up.

Now would cardio 3 days a week help out with cutting the bodyfat i've gained over the past couple of years, i'm probably at about 15-20% as opposed to the 8-12% i was 2 years ago. Also, i'm at about 190lbs and i'd like to stay around this weight just be lean with little bodyfat...any suggestions?

The workout seems good. If you want to lose bodyfat, the most important thing is to cut back on sugar. It might be hard, but you've really gotta be eating very, very little or preferably no sugar. Maybe this is what you're doing already anyway, but if you're not you should.

        Metabolism is the key!

Ultimately, increasing your metabolism through aerobic activity (running) is the best way to burn body fat. Keeping your target heart range in roughly the 60% to 75% of max range is ideal. How quickly this happens and the rate at which it occurs will generally be affected by genectics, ie.. body type (endomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph) and if you're protien efficient, carb efficient, or a combo of both.
