its Gods gift to man. its shame that the interest groups who run our country turned our nations most profitable crop into an unacceptable "drug". yet legal drugstores pushing designer drugs for record profits is cool.

our own founding fathers were known to have kept vast fields of cannabis plants because they were so useful.

with all the savage deforestation that is going on in the world, paper can easily be made from cannabis plants. better paper than we get with forrests.

btw, cannabis seeds are known to be one of the most nutritious seeds available on earth. if marijuana was legal, so many nutritious food products could be made from the seeds alone, it could feed tons of starving people all over the world. look at this info-

"Of the 3 million plus edible plants that grow on Earth, no other single plant source can compare with the nutritional value of hempseeds. Both the complete protein and the essential oils contained in hempseeds are in ideal ratios for human nutrition. Only soybeans contain a higher percentage of protein. However, the composition of the protein in hempseed is unique in the vegetable kingdom. Sixty-five percent of the protein content in hempseed is in the form of globulin edestin.1 (The word edestin comes from the Greek "edestos," meaning edible.)

The exceptionally high edestin content of hempseed combined with albumin, another globular protein contained in all seeds, means the readily available protein in hempseed contains all the essential amino acids in ideal proportions to assure your body has the necessary building blocks to create proteins like disease-fighting immunoglobulins - antibodies whose job is to ward off infections before the symptoms of sickness set it.2

Cannabis seed protein even allows a body with nutrition-blocking tuberculosis, or almost any other nutrition-blocking ailment, to get maximum nourishment.*

    * Cohen & Stillman, Therapeutic Potential of Marijuana, Plenum Press, NY, 1976; Czech. Tubercular Nutritional Study, 1955.

Even more important for building a strong immune system, hempseeds are the highest source in the plant kingdom of essential fatty acids. These essential oils, linoleic and linolenic acids, are responsible for the luster in your skin, hair, eyes, and even your thought processes. They lubricate (clear) the arteries and are vital to the immune system.

These essential fatty acids were used by Dr. Joanna Budwig (nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize every year since 1979) to successfully treat "terminal" cancer patients, as well as those suffering from cardiovascular disease, glandular atrophy, gall stones, kidney degeneration, acne, dry skin, menstrual problems and immune deficiency.

This, as well as other research, prompted William Eidelman, M.D., UCLA, and R. Lee Hamilton, Ed.D., Ph.D. Medical Researcher-Biochemist UCLA Emeritus, to speak out on behalf of "the life-giving values" of cannabis hemp. They state: "These essential oils support the immune system and guard against viral and other insults to the immune system. Studies are in progress using the essential oils to support the immune systems of persons with the H.I.V. virus. So far they have been extremely promising."

    • What about sexual harassment

I have been reading some very disturbing things on there here forums about some very famous martial artists with bad habits. I hear that some on the Gracies have a bad habit of nut fondling people at siminars. There are been two serious reports on these forums from members on these forums. That's a very unhealty habit.

          • I hate to be a wet blanket, but want to point out that the omega-3 in plant oils (including flaxseed oil and others, not just hemp seed oil--which btw you can buy legally in this country) is just barely bioavailable. The ALA from plant foods has to go through four conversions to get to EPA and five to get to DHA. This means that average conversion to EPA is less than 3% and to DHA less than 1.5%. I'd recommend cod liver oil, even though it tastes awful, because it IS bioavailable and also has tons of vitamin A and D. There's a lemon-flavored kind you can sneak into your protein shakes. (The only other source of EPA/DHA that is bioavailable is, uh, rat milk...)

This isn't to say there aren't any good uses for marijuana or hemp. I've heard marijuana oil used topically is good for fibromyalgia (don't eat it or any homemade herb oil unless you want to risk botulism) and I've heard hemp seed oil makes a good salad dressing. Be aware that it could signal a false positive for drug tests.

              • I managed a subway.

I was the manager of a very busy subway in my area for about 2 years and some of my best employees were smokers.

They rarley called in sick, or missed work. I guess because there was no paid sick time and if you were a slacker no job. No job no money no pot. Plus the hassel of another piss test.

They cleaned very well, were friendly to all the customer and never stole. Plus giving them a free sandwich was a great incentive plan, worked like a charm.

So as far as motivational and mental retardation go from smoking pot, I have yet to see it in anyone who wasn't already some kind of asshole.

Because these best of lizard posts often get errr reeditted later AFTER the discussion, this one deserves to be saved for posterity.

But if you look at Paul Pitchford's book Healing With Whole Foods he has tons of documentation and references, etc. on how THC builds up in the brain tissues of habitual users, causing cerebral atrophy, widening of synaptic clefts in the brain, disintegration of brain nerve cells and deposits of inclusion bodies in the nuclei of brain nerve cells. He said that it increases melatonin levels and that in TCM they say that the high results in large amounts of transformed kidney jing to be sent to the brain and therefore is depleted.

Yes, there are self-motivated hard working pot smokers. Imagine their potential if they gave up the green stuff.

"After a lengthy coroner's inquest in Hong Kong. A panel of medical experts eventually concluded that Bruce Lee had died from a hypersensitive reaction to a compound in the drug Equagesic. This hypersensitivity led to a swelling of the brain and resulted in Bruce Lee entering a deep coma from which he never awoke. The coroner declared himself satisfied with the finding, and so did Linda Lee, his wife."

Note also the question to you was "name one recorded death from smoking pot"....you replied "Bruce Lee" The Autopsy thats the recorded report for you slow people says "allergic reaction to painkiller" so you are still wrong and still pulling your "do anything but admit I'm wrong" game.

"Bruce Lee, who was named Lee Jun Fan (Cantonese dialect) at birth, died on July 20, 1973. After an autopsy, the official cause of death was listed as a cerebral edema, or swelling of the brain. The report goes on to state this was likely the result of an abnormal reaction to painkillers he was taking for a bad back, combined with an analgesic he took the night he died. There were also traces of cannabis in his system, according to the autopsy report."

hmmm traces of pot in Bruce lee's system, yet it says PAINKILLERS were the cause of the allergic reaction...anymore moronic leaps you wanna make Tree? all you did was show thousands of kids even Bruce lee smoked pot...way to spread the word

                            • cerebral edema due to an allergic reaction to a chemical component of a particular type of pain killer....yup. That's why people die from taking asprin and penicilin (anti-biotic)... because of acute allergies.

I guess therefore, it could be entirely feasable, would it not, that somebody could have, or could even develop, a cannabis allergy??? Death by second hand pot smoke...Reefer MADNESS, MARIJUANNA, ASSASSIN OF YOUTH...

seriously, pot leads to coke, coke leads to pepsi, pepsi leads to crack, and crack leads to SLANG.
