  • Training Pants and Gloves

I'm looking for a nice pair of training pants and some sparring gloves.

I am not sure what you call these pants, but I will try to describe them. They are the kind you see in movies with the loose waist you tie a cord or rope around to keep them up, and the stretchy elastic bottom like you'd find on sweatpants (elastic part is optional, but it might be nice). Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Also, for gloves. This is the pair I'm about to order http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp...egory_rn=13550
They look pretty nice for me, I like the muay thai style, and since we spar with mask cages I need something to protect my fingers, unlike fingerless gloves.
Can anyone suggest me what I should be getting?

Eh the gloves are ok, I'd rather get a heavier pair like 14 oz or 16 oz but thats up to you. As for the pants just wear any sweat pants lol, I don't see why you want those, and are you talking about the ones that Kung Fu practitioners use?

      Actually, I was considering these...

These look nice and light, and if I can learn to keep my thumb out of the way I think they'd be great.

Why would I want a heavier glove if I'm sparring someone? I'm just trying to get hits, not knock them out

I really like the twins Muay thai gloves, but I have some questions.

I am a noob, so what is the point of hand wrapping? Is it so you don't injure yourself? I heard there's 60-something-odd bones in your hand and I'd like to keep mine nice and cozy.

I've never wrapped my hands before, should I start, even if I don't compete?? And should I get gloves in the right size to accomodate the wrapped hands?

Also, is there a best color for gloves? One that is not so bright that it is telegraphed, that way it won't be seen as easily as another color?

Well I don't take Muay thai either, I want to start in Febuary or January but I watched an instructional video for some golden glove champ in muay thai in thailand, he said it decreases injury and that u should never forget doing it. And about the gloves, the more mass the more strength and speed you will achieve with training unless its something u can hardly hold up, but I think its better personally, this is just my opinion, I think if you have a heavier mass you will gain more strength and speed with training. Does the colour really matter? lol, I prefer black :P
