i am on the demo team at my karate school. We had a demo at a high school last week and at one point i had to run out and do a frontflip but the problem was that a front flip has a hard landing and i had to land on a gym floor. Instead i did a front handspring. Usually when i do a fronthand spring once i hit my hands to the floor i curl into a ball and finish the rotation almost like the second half of a front flip. Instead my back bent back so far my feet touched the ground before my hands left it. I did (or at least to me) the most amazing fronthand spring ive ever seen (my friend taped it) but it hurt my back alot and i barely got through the rest of the demo.... so in other words how would i make my back even more flexiable and be able to do those kinds of handsprings (front and back) with out hurting myself.

Bridges, seal strech. I wouldn't recomend doing your ball thing anymore. Most likey it's going to get you hurt in the long run more than the normal front handspring you did. You feet should touch just the moment after your hands leave. Just remember to drive your heels ok? don't do that ball shit anymore, hearing you describe it makes me cringe.

no no no, bridges AND seal streches....you lay on the floor and then prop the front end of your body up with your arms and keep your legs on the floor. So you look like a doofy ass seal. if it dosen't strech you good enough try touching the back of your head to the tips of your toes.
