  • the splits...

two parts. 1/how do i get flexible enugh to do them
2/how do i find a good reason to try to get that flexible

currently it seems like somethign nice to be able to do. im sure theres a better reason out there tho. oh yeah, what stretches recommended?
maybe this will go better than backflips which i STILL dont have the guts to try

    cheers

sep....ever wonder how bruce kicked karem in the chin?....splits man hahah...that and in BJJ it helps allot to be flexible. it helps in all ground arts i would say.

how to get flexible enough. strech every day. streches reccomended. wall splits: back on the floor, butt agianst the wall, lower your feet as close to the floor as you can get them....chill out like that for a while, have sumone keep sliding your feet inches lower, or do it urself, keep hanging there after each inch. RELAX.

wall splits help reduce stress on your knees especially if you got bad knees. most of us athlets should protect our knees, they see allot of punishment. plus it's easy to sit in a wall split for ten minutes. it's not that easy to do that in a pancake strech, or a true middle split.

Seppuku, I use the ol' "I wanna smash my shin into peoples face" as motivation for stretching. Maybe it will work for you.

I'm def. gonna try wall splits tonight. My right knee give me probs sometimes after straddle stretches and reg. splits. Thanks for the tip eyegouge.

Hey after having our coaches do handstands on us while we did oversplits we had to think of new ways to strech. No prob.
