  • Acl Recovery

I have just recently had a acl reconstruction done in october. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this. If so how long did it take to get you back in training? Also what kind of exercises would help to recover faster? Or is it just a time healing process?

One of the wrestlers I trained with, (big kid) tore his acl. Just give it time. Dont rush back into training, cause then you might put yourself out even longer. My best advice, listen to your doctor.

If the ACL was replaced with a donor ligament, most recovery estimates are about 12 weeks. If you had a tendon graph, it could be as much as 9 to 12 months for a 100% recovery. Everyone recovers at a different rate, which depends on your overall fitness level to begin with.

      Good luck.

Thats exactly what I had done. Tendon graph to replace the ACL, MCL repair, and meniscus shaved all around. Thanks to all who responded. I think I'm a little impatient and just want to get back to training. Just a little frustrated too, because during this holiday season, I just pigged out and I cant really do to much exercise. Thanks again.
