  • Arm wrestling

Sorry to bug(2nd thread in a row), but what just happened to me today I felt this was the place I needed to go for answers.

I'm 20. I was arm wrestling today against family who have not worked out in years. I have been working out for about 1-2 months. I arm wrestled my cousin today who is 23 and he beat me. I could not have the power to push him back behind his center point. The second person I arm wrestled is my uncle who is in his 40's. He was able to beat me the same exact way my cousin did... with ease.

So I want to know how I can train and get myself a better arm wrestler. Exactly which muscles do you use during arm wrestling? I thought it was mainly your biceps and triceps at first but I guess not since I'm losing and have been working them out heavily for the past 2 months. So I'm wondering if they are the forearms and shoulders that you use for arm wrestling? Because I do absolutely no workouts for them. If that's the case then I need to start working out my forearms/shoulders. Can someone confirm this for me, or if that's not what you use for arm wrestling, what major muscle groups do you use? Thanks.

Just keep your wrist as straight as possible and try to bend their wrist as much as possible... Also sledgehammer training will work your wrists and forearms. I think it's mostly hands wrists and forearms, not biceps.

Kettlebells/clubbells might be equally effective, I don't know.

Also I'm no expert but I finally beat a guy for the first time.

I was googling and I found this for working out your forearms.

What do you think... is it worth it?
