does anyone has a good legs exercise to do outside the gym besides squats?
I have a knee condition, and squatting is bad for me

What's wrong with your knee and what limitations does it give you? What restrictions has your doctor given you?

Can you cycle? Cycling will build your legs.

Another one is to get into a pool with a kick board and fins and do nothing but flutter kicks or dolphin kicks across the pool. It will build your legs like nothing else...

Is there any therapy or corrective measures for a thick meniscus or is it kind of a permanent condition?

Is your doctor referring to full knee bends? Does it make a difference if it's weighted or just body weight? Can you do partials? If so, something like deadlifts or jumping drills might work or the stance work from karate or kung fu or something. Can you do isometrics?

It sounds like you might be best off talking to your doctor about it, maybe he can refer you to a physical therapist. I would be careful about taking well meaning advice from the internet because people don't really know anything about your condition.

I agree with the above. The bes thing you can do is either ask your doctor, or if he/she does not know, then ask our doctor to refer you to a specialist that deals with physiotherapy and sports sciences etc.

We could all come up with some suggestions, but they could make the condition worse.

Although saying that, why not stand in horse stance for an hour a day? No movement, makes like strong like steel!

no, the doc said i can train pretty much normally, but that it's gonna hurt like hell...and it makes my legs shake after a while, so weighted squats become somewhat dangerous.
i do a lot of cycling, as well as any other exercise that doesn;t require me to balance weights

what about climbing stairs, or using a stairmaster at the gym?

Sprinting or running stairs are good leg conditioners if you can do them.
