  • Problems with lungs...

Well, as i stated before, I used to smoke ciggs, and before i started smoking i was running in my ROTC class alot and was able to run long distances, but now a year after, and lungs alot more damaged, i cant run long distances...

I mean i can but when i stop running and start walking my lungs feel like their compressing and slightly hurts, and definately cant breath, what is wrong with my lungs? I get real nauseous and start hacking/coughing my intestines up.. I want to be able to do 2 mile run but my lungs would give out before I could.

    Any comments?

Just take your time getting back to running longer and longer distances. No need to rush it - be patient. You could also swim; swimming seems to build lung capacity too.

I'm not an impressive distance runner either; I've had to work up to running longer and longer distances faster and faster.

I'm still not that impressive of a runner - but like you, all I can do is work at it. If I can keep just under a 7:30 pace for 4 miles (quite slow) I feel like I've accomplished something huge even though there are hundreds of dudes who can smoke me.
