    Hi,

    I'm going to ask about this far and wide, because I really need good answers . . .

    I'm about to begin training martial arts full time (6 hours a day, maybe).

    The reason is because I've let my health degenerate so badly that I have to make a drastic change. Let's just say I'm less than adonyssian at this point.

    So I want to get as much information as possible. If you were going to go into training a traditional martial art, more or less blind, and you were

    -fat
    -oldish
    -had low physical endurance
    -were basically inflexible

    What would you do to remedy the problems as quickly as possible?

    Can anyone suggest a basic training routine, without knowing to many details?

    You should speak with your physician to seek professional medical advice about your current health condition and desire to make a big physical lifestyle change.


    As for training martial arts full-time (6hrs per day), you should take the time to work up to it - slowly. Look online for a good stretch routine to use before your workout, start walking to build up your cardio vascular stamina and look up a good personal trainer.

      I hope you're not having some mid-life crisis.. you'll end up in the hospital of you get into too much hardcore training when your body isn't ready for it yet.

        I'm going to have to agree with Tom Yum. You should definitely consult your physician before taking up any strenuous physical activity as for 6 hours a day? that's a bit much to start off with. The best possible advice I can give you is the old saying "you must crawl before you can walk". Stick to it and enjoy the benefits of leading a healthier lifestyle. Peace.
